Lets talk...
pantyhose.
I finally ditched my size 3x/4x pantyhose... the ones that bagged at my ankles like I had tusks and a trunk and the top of which could easily be pulled over my boobs - well, make that higher than my boobs given their current location.
I bought some pantyhose at Walmart the other day... the old standard No-nonsense (yes, me no-nonsense...ha ha ha). I looked at the chart on the back of the box and based on height/weight chart... I'm still in a size Q. Oh well. That doesn't bother me... okay so maybe a little bit but that's not the issue at hand.
I wore a fitted denim dress (vintage 1990... LOL... with shoulder pads yanked out of course) today and put my new pantyhose on at the gym. The derned things were hanging 3 inches below my dang crotch all day. I felt like I had to walk with my legs together all day. Not a pretty site, I tell you.
Either I'm too tall for these things even though the box says I should fit in them or they think my weight should be someplace other than in my thunder thighs. I figure that the circumference of my thighs is taking up too much of the fabric and therefore the length of them is being short changed.
Now I have to figure out what brand/size to buy. Hopefully they make a QT. (Queen tall).

I know, that's what I'm talking about!!!!! This clothing issue is just gonna be an issue for life!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish they would have told me that prior to wls. I was sooooo looking forward to just going in and buying whatever I wanted with not worries about not finding it to fit me...... but alas, I've woken up from dream land with a sharp slap in the face from REALITY!!!
Hugs,
Laurie
mmhmm
I am so feeling ya Laurie!
My sweet sister keeps sending me new clothes, in a size 16, but they are all these low waist things, very stylish but I have, ummm, all this skin. Hanging. Over the top of the pants! Gross.
I need the old lady type pants that the waist comes up to my rib cage! Darn it!
Or a long line girdle!
Kathy, I feel you. I have been wearing a size 3/4X stockings for most of my adult life and after almost 80lbs, I still can't go to a smaller size. I am 5'11, hippy with a nice size butt! The stocking are to big on the lower legs and comes up past my chest but I am almost to scared to buy the smaller size.
Clothing has been a challenging experience. I thought after I lost weight it would be wonderful walking into a regular store and purchasing regular size clothes but I find it to be a challenge each time so I stopped. Every store is different so I've decided to wait for another 25lbs lost.
Good luck to us all!
