Liquid Stevia -- Product Review
As promised, this is my 'product review' of Sweet Leaf Liquid Stevia.
What it is: calorie-free sweetener in a dropper bottle
How is it used: in tea or to flavor plain water
Cost: $15/bottle (a bottle contains 240 servings, so don't say 'yikes')
Stevia is an herbal supplement that is non-caloric and very sweet. It hasn't been approved by the FDA as a sweetener, just as a supplement. So, you won't find it in the sugar section. I bought it at Wild Oats in the supplement section. It comes in multiple flavors: plain, Chcocolate Raspberry, Apricot Nectar, vanilla Creme, and English Toffee. I've tried them all, with the exception of English Toffee (english toffee flavored water doesn't appeal to me). You put 1 drop per 2 liquid ounces. I use this stuff in water, as I don't like sweet tea.
It's great, very easy. Because it's liquid, it doesn't have to dissolve. The Vanilla Creme makes the water taste like Creme Soda. The Apricot is my favorite, though, with a subtle fruity flavor. The chocolate raspberry is yummy, also.
The only drawback I can find is that the bottle is glass, so carrying it with you might be dicey.
