I went on a short walk to the mailbox yesterday its about 1/4 of a mile from my apartment door and my knees were screaming so I called my doc and he said he's done all he feels comfortable doing so he refered me to an orthopedist. They called me today and my appointment is next week on Tuesday @ 2:30. I hope they are able to do something because it makes me really nervous now about taking the anti inflammatory so I'm not taking it. I wish there was something I could take for the pain. I was told to take glucosmine and have been taking that but it doesn't work yet. But I was told that could take a couple of months to work. Jan

Good luck with the orthopedist, Jan! Yes, glucosamine can take a long while to kick in. Wi**** were faster for you. Feel better, Kathy

Hope the ortho doc can help ya out. Pain is difficult to endure. There is a RX that can be taken with anti-inflammitories that coats the stomach to help prevent damage. I think its called Misapropatol. I wonder if bypass patients can take that so there isn't the same danger of irritation of the stomach. Sometimes when the pain is intense it would be nice to get the relief of Aleve or the like. God bless ya Jan. Mary

Jan, If you Orthopedist is like mine, he will give you a cortisone shot and the synvisc shots. The cortisone will work on the pain right away, the synvisc will give you the long term support. Good luck! Lori
