I know my Surgiversary isn't til tomorrow but I haven't figured out how to cut and paste something kinda big on my laptop and I'm out at mom and dad's on their computer. So here goes: 1. Surgery date/type of surgery: May 11, 2005 Open RNY 2. Highest weight/date: 442 May 3, 2005 It's the first time I was on a scale that could weigh me it was at my surgeons office. 3. Starting weight/BMI: 442, don't know BMI 4. Starting clothing size/shoe size: 32/34/11W 5. Current weight/BMI:294, not sure on the BMI 6. Current clothing size/shoe size: 24/10 7. Pounds/inches lost:148/unfortunately I don't measure myself often enough just when I go see my surgeon which will be on June 23 8. Goal weight/BMI: 150/don't really care about the BMI 9. Pounds to goal weight: 146 10. Medical issues that have resolved because of the surgery:Blood sugars 11. First wow moment after surgery:Being able to buy jeans that had a button and a zipper 12. Best overall wow moment after surgery: Being able to wear a seatbelt in the backseat of my Aunt's blazer 13. Most recent wow moment after surgery: Being able to pull on a pair of levi's 14. Things that you can do now that you couldn't a year ago: Go the Gym, shop at walmart, shop at Old Navy and wear cute clothes 15. Things that you never thought you'd be doing that you are doing now: Working out for 45 minutes 16. Things that you want to do in the future now that you are able: Work out for 60 minutes and not get short of breath 17. What did you wish that you knew before surgery that you know now? Nothing I researched a lot 18. What has surprised you the most since your surgery? The compliments I get from people I'm still not used to that 19. Do you have any regrets since your surgery? Nope I'd do it again in a heartbeat 20. Any things that you wish you would have done differently during your post-op journey? Not pushed the envelope on what I can and can't eat. I found out I don't dump on everything so still eat the bad things sometimes. 21. Besides the change in size, what other changes have you seen in yourself? Are the changes for the good or bad? I'm more postive I'm not Pollyanna but am postive. The depressions I have aren't as deep as they used to be. 22. What has been the easiest thing since surgery? Saying no I don't want anymore I'm full. 23. What has been the hardest thing since surgery? Still Emotionally Eating 24. What remains a struggle for you? Emotional Eating 25. Do you drink with meals? Nope 26. Do you drink carbonated beverages? Not anymore I heard that they can stretch your pouch out and I don't want that. 27. Do you drink alcohol? Not anymore I found out I liked it too much 28. Do you intake protein supplements? If so, how much per day. I drink 1-2 protein drinks a day 29. How has the surgery effected your relationship with spouse or significant other? He compliments me when I'm not around 30. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your family? They are very supportive 31. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your friends? Not really changed that 32. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your coworkers? I don't have any coworkers I'm on disability 33. If you could pass along advice "been there, done that" to pre-ops, what advice would it be? Stick to the plan your doctor gives you. 34. What is your favorite forum on OH? (Hint, hint) Maysters of course 35. Who has inspired you in your journey the most? Is it someone who know who has had the surgery? Is it someone's profile that you track? Is it someone from your local support group? There is a lady in my support group that was over 600lbs and she is doing awesome. I'm very impressed with her and she helps keep me on track

Congrats, Jan! Thanks for sharing your answers. I see by my math that you are over half way to your goal now. That's fabulous! I believe the surgery is a tool and the window of opportunity to lose is as open as we ourselves make it. And you know that we are all here to root you on every step of the way! Best wishes, Kathy
