Surgiversary today!
Good Morning Maysters: I can't believe this day is here. I am absolutely ecstatic to have a whole new me. I was at a reception yesterday and saw many people who I haven't seen since before surgery. Its amazing that I have to tell them who I am and then I get to watch their faces as the realization sets in. Things have gone extremely well for me and I feel very proud to be a little under goal (at least my original goal for myself) in just a year.

19. Do you have any regrets since your surgery? Not one.
20. Any things that you wish you would have done differently during your post-op journey? No. I pretty much followed all the rules and doing pretty well with exercise despite my rhuematoid arthritis.
21. Besides the change in size, what other changes have you seen in yourself? Are the changes for the good or bad? Way more confidence. I speak in front of people a lot and although I always pretty much felt comfortable, now I feel like I look OK too. The changes are definitely for the good.
22. What has been the easiest thing since surgery? Losing weight. I don't dump and I haven't felt at all bad since about month 4. I used to have lots of nausea, but never vommitted.

29. How has the surgery effected your relationship with spouse or significant other? Hubby is very supportive and proud of me.
30. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your family? They are just proud of me.
31. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your friends? Same.
32. How has the surgery effected your relationship with your coworkers? No real effect. I started a new position with the same school district last July.
33. If you could pass along advice "been there, done that" to pre-ops, what advice would it be? Hang in there and follow your surgeons advice. Get help when you need it.
34. What is your favorite forum on OH? (Hint, hint) May 2005 and California
35. Who has inspired you in your journey the most? Is it someone who know who has had the surgery? Is it someone's profile that you track? Is it someone from your local support group? My husband and friends have kept me going and I have a cousing and some friends who had the surgery and have been a great inspiration.
I guess thats about it. I haven't posted much, but I have been lurking around for a long time.
The ease of travelling and the size 2 are by far the greatest things for me. I just can't believe it. I can't wait to read more of your one year stories. All the best to all of my fellow Maysters.
