Updating my self-diagnosis
I know think I have something called "slipped rib syndrome" not costochondritis. The costo would present itself more in the form of chest pains since it is the cartilage that attaches to the sternum that is inflammed.
The slipped rib syndrome more sounds like it fits my situation. Gosh, I just love self-diagnosis.
Now to find out what to do to help it. Call the chiro. Acupuncturist perhaps. I see my regular doc next Tuesday. Oh joy!

Wow! I just read up on it, because you peaked my interest... Not downplaying the pain you're in, but wouldn't that be something if it came down to something this... weirdly uninteresting? Sorry, I know that sounds bad, don't mean it to, but just from reading, it seems like a pretty common but fairly unknown situation that is pretty easily corrected... If that's what it is, I'd be pretty pissed that you've had to endure this much pain for this long....
I guess that is one way to put it.
Honestly, from the sounds of it... I'm not so convinced it is that easy to fix or treat. But you are very right... uninteresting describes it. Amazing how perhaps something so semi-debilitating can be something almost... simple?
And also it sounds like this is hard to diagnose. It comes across as so many other more serious things.

Hey Kathy, You have a knack for research in the medical issues. These mysteries have caused you to press on and press in. I wonder if you've ever thought of becoming a Physicians Assistant? My doc's wife went back to school and got her license about a yr. ago. She is very kind and compoassionate and caring. Her patients love her. You have the very same characteristics ! People respond well to you and ' hear' you well also. Maybe all this struggle is to invite an emerging care giver who also really 'hears' others carefully and well, into ministry. Just a little nugget of 'food for thought'.
Best wishes, Mary
Mary,
I've actually thought about many things.
I went to school working towards a Master's Degree in Psychology in the early 1990s and got about 2 classes and an internship away but ended up with heath issues (allergies and asthma) and it was too much with working and a new marriage (my practice marriage (#1)). So I had interest in that area. Obviously I have an interest in nutrition and health especially since I've been such a science project all by myself. LOL. I would love to roll that all up into one and work with pre-ops/post-ops in some way. I think I'd need to have to figure out funding for education and such. Didn't do a good job of that when I took classes last time and ended up with lots of debt because of it. Geez, classes were pricey.
Who knows. The world is my oysta. LOL!
