Gym Is Open (Tuesday)

I had an early morning meeting today, so knew that going to my jazzercise class would be cutting it close, so I decided to stay home and try the new Pilates DVD that I bought on the weekend. It is the "You Can Do" series from Leslie Sansone. I keep thinking I'm really getting in shape, then I try something new like Pilates and it kicks my butt!!! Just goes to show how you really need to keep mixing up your workout. What this showed me this morning is that my flexibility needs a whole lot of work! I hope to do a walk later, I've starting wearing pedometer and really want to see if I can get the 10,000 steps in a day. This is my first day. What did you do to move your body today? Hey Lori ~ Do you like the Pilates DVD? I want to try some. Today, I did 35 minutes on the elliptical, then hit some crunches. It was a good sweaty workout. Angie

Angie, Good workout! Yes, I like the Pilates DVD. It is a beginner one that Leslie Sansone has done in her "You Can Do" series. You can really feel the core work with pilates. One thing I've noticed about myself since I do so much weight lifting is that my flexibility has deteriorated. I'm hoping by doing pilates 3 times a week that I can improve that plus my core strength. Since I'm no longer losing weight, I'm trying to workout twice a day now to see if I can get the scale moving again. Pilates is a good addition, I think. Lori 384/242/168

Today, I did 40 minutes on the treadmill 20 minutes running at 4.5 mph. This afternoon, I get the pleasure of working out with my PT for 50 minutes with 30 more minutes of cardio. NB S283/C208
