Topic: RE: Weight Gain!
Hey Laura,
I am in the same position. I have gained about 10 lbs. since WLS but I am okay with it because I had lost too much weight in the beginning. I started out around 225, size 16-18, and went down to size 6P, I can sometime wear some 6s but it has to be a regular 6. I am just happy to still be in 1 digit. I will start the panick if I get in double digits. Most of my clothes are now 8s. People still call me "thin" but sometimes I don't feel that way. Most my weight gain has been around my waist, but I am working on getting it down.
God Bless
Hettie

I am in the same boat. Keep telling myself I will start getting serious next week. But next week never comes. I got down to 185-190 now back up to 220.
This needs to stop!!!! As a nurse I am so bad I keep hoping I will catch the flu or Norwalk or Roto Virus and have no choice but drop it.
I know what needs to be done:
Back to Basics- Protein, water and exercise! Just have to find the motivation again. I was so gun ho in the first year, but honeymoon is over and now I am going to have to fight to get it back.

I feel the same way I gotr down to about 185-190 after surgery, but over the last year things have creeped up. I'm back to 220 and feel like a failure, which makes it worse.
I think we have just become comfortable with life, and have been enjoying life way too much.

Topic: Weight Gain!
Hi All! I'm just over 3 years out from surgery and have lost a total of 174 pounds. I'm absolutely thrilled with the weight I have lost, but the last month to month and a half I have gained 10 pounds and cannot seem to get it off, no matter what I do! I'm sure this has happened to others out there, but what did you do? How did you handle it? Could the horribly hot weather we've been having have anything to do with it? Could it be the hysterectomy I had a year and a half ago be part of it? Maybe I'm grasping here, I don't know, but I sure could use some advice and/or ideas. Thanks May babies and God bless all of you!!

I haven't been here in a while. Hope everyone is doing great. I am doing really well!

Happy happy anniversary May babies! I feel great... got a little extra vanity weight but it is more the number than the way I look or feel (you know how you always have THAT number that you want your weight to be?).
I feel amazing and have a whole new happier healthier life!
Topic: RE: Finally did it, left husband!!!!
Congrats on your freedom! I found that once your body is healthy you can start working on the parts that you took some insulation off of... mental and emotional wellness. I left my ex husband about 2.5yrs ago, got diagnosed as bipolar with panic disorder and am now (happily) being treated, and am now remarried to the kindest, most compassionate and amazing man who completely appreciates me for everything that I am.
Don't ever sell yourself short again. You have proven TO YOURSELF that you're worth a good healthy relationship with yourself, demand it from others too.
xo

Topic: RE: need some help again,
Dear Leigh Ann, I think you just did give yourself a swift kick in the pants by putting your thoughts out on the board. Sometimes we have to have our peers give us support or scoldings, whichever we need. Never listen to anyone who tells you are too thin!! They are so used to seeing you big that even five pounds gone and they think you are dwindling away to nothing. I went through the same thing and just went back to day one after surgery. Do the liquid protein diet for a few days, then gradually reintroduce solid foods. Give your pouch a break and make sure you get lots and lots of water. Water and protein, those have always been my saving graces when I get "out of control". Keep thinking of the weight that you did lose and keep telling yourself that you CAN do it because you ARE worth it! You gotta love yourself lots and lots and lots!!! I hope this helped some. If you need a pal, please feel free to email me!!
Hugs, Laura
