John, You are awesome!! I like the "do or do not...there is no try". Sometimes we need this to get us back on track. Like Janette, I too, have only lost 70 pounds. And, I know that I make excuses...which are legit...but, also...I am not doing the "pew"!! (I like that too...) I may post that in my kitchen...door...bathroom...ect. Thanks for being up front...we need that!! Jeannie

Topic: Muscular pains??
Hey guys, my upper and lower back has been really sore the past few months. It's crazy at 276 pounds I never had any back problems and now, gosh my back pain is really beginning to affect my life. I am seeing a Neurologist about typical pinched nerve stuff in my upper back, but I think my lower back is muscular, kinda feels like back labor or back menstrual cramps. I have been taking Tylenol, but it ain't cutting it. Is anyone else on anything else that helps with muscular pain? I would develop a problem that needs an anti-inflammatory after I have had a surgery that doesn't permit me to take one (just my luck). I have prayed and prayed that God would give the doctors the wisdom to find out what is wrong wtih me, but y'all I sit here with a big ole lump in my throat and depression has really taken me over. I am ashamed to say it, but this pain is really taking a toll on my happy life and wonderful family. Please give me some advice as I am desperate for your input. Love and Thanks, Stacey

(((((((((((((JULIE )))))))))))))))) You look amazing !!! Well .. I am down now 167 pounds .. size 6 . I am still loosing and I guess my body is not done yet . I have started wearing halter tops .. and low rider jeans.. it is the best feeling . Well .. my marrige fell apart .. it was rocky before the surgery .. I think I wrote about it before .. but now we are getting a divorce . Is the best thing for everyone. My self esteem is thru the roof .. I have never been more happier in my life . I just wonder where everyone is that used to post .. I am sure everyone is busy . I am hoping to get my plastics next year .. Blue Cross Anthem is making me wait until my full 18 months is up . That is fine by me .. but I know I am getting it done . So good to see you .. I truly hope we can all meet one day .. what a hoot that would be . Love ya .. and I will be posting some great info soon on maintaining and getting back to basics . Always, Natalie

Hi Julie, Hey we are surgery sisters, we have the same date. I am guilty of not visting the boards as much as now that school is out. My girl and I stay busy busy busy. She just said the other day, "Mama, I love the new you!", "I miss my fluffy mom but I Love my new mama!!" We actually went and bought me a bike. That was one of my first goals was to ride bikes with my girl. I DID IT!!!! We went like 3 miles!! I think I wore her out. I am also out 13.5 months and down 150 pounds. I have been at a stand still for a while but still wanna lose about 60 more. I get discouraged but will NOT give up. I want one of those little red dresses like you. You look GREAT!!!! Congrats on all your accomplishments. I hope all goes well with your bloodwork. Keep us posted. Take care and have a fun summer. Now I'm blabbing!!! OOPS!

Julie you look amazing!!!!! My actual goal is a size 8. I am 5'5" and my goal weight is 150. I am 13 months post-op. My labs have been perfect and no more high blood preasure. I have 20 more pounds until goal. I don't think I will need a TT because I have been working out alot with the trainer. We will see. Maybe in 2 years for my 40th birthday.......lol. I am currently in a size 12 petite. I was this size when I met my husband 16 years ago. So I am quit happy at this size. I know what you mean about being overwelmed when people see the new me. I went to my girlfriend's hubbies b-day party. She went on and on how I look like a model. I told her to stop because I got so embarrassed. She is also a size 12 but that is big for her and she says I look smaller. Oh well, I guess we have to learn to deal with these types of situations. My brother's baby shower is July 9th and I am sure it will be much of the same. Now I am blabbing........lol Hugs, Christine 307/170/150

Julie, You have done GREAT You look wonderful in your red dress....and just by looking at you, I wouldn't lose another pound....I hope I look as good as you after my TT. I saw your pics, and my tummy looks kinda similar to what yours looked like. I am scheduled for all my plastics in Sept, so I cant wait. I also hope that I lose 10 pounds at least after my TT. The doc said that I have at least 10 pounds of skin to be removed. YAH to you!!! You are BEAUTIFUL!!! Get that through your head! Tricia 247/135/130 (doc's goal)

I know we have all slacked off posting on here....I am sure once summer comes to a close we will get back on track. At least we all do check it here and there to still support everyone. Thank you so much Nat for posting all of your awesome info...plus you look amazing! How does your hubby feel about it all? I am now 13.5mo post op wls and 5 weeks 2 days p/o full TT. I have lost 123.5lbs so far. I lost 11.5 since my TT. I guess once they fixed my hernia....I am no longer able to eat as much and my appetite went away again. That is fine with me of course since I am still not at goal. I am closing in on it though. I am 5'3 and I have a modest goal of 130-135 and I am now at 141.5. I started at a 22/24 (265lbs) and I am mostly in a size 8 & M tops. But I can wear smaller in certain brands. I have a new pic in my profile. The red linen dress is a size 4 from Petite Sophisiticate....gotta love that...lol I feel great but my last labs weren't so great. My original cholesterol was 240 and after 3mo p/o went down to 189 and is now at 201. My iron has been great my entire life and now is extremely HIGH at 500+ so I need to make an appt. to get that checked out. I hope all is well....I did find something out about myself....I will drink a lot more if I use a straw! I will carry one with me from now on...lol I have an upcoming wedding at my in-laws and I am not sure I am ready for the attention. I look a LOT different from when I was there last. The pic in the chair , in my profile, where I looked like I need a shoe horn to get me out....was taken the last time I was there. I have seen a few of them when they came here but I am hoping it will not be too overwhelming. I am sure a lot of the people will think my hubby has a new wife...lol Well I guess I have blabbed enough for now.....HUGS to all.... Julie S. 265/141.5/135

Sorry this reply is so late but I too have a friend that went though this and was able to just about to eat normal again and she also seemed to be hungry often and soon after eating. They put a scope down her throat and found that her stoma had stretched to almost 2x what it should be which was allowing food to pass through WAY too quickly. I would talk to your doc about that. Janette - It sounds like you know what to do - your execusion needs some work. Well, a lot of work actually. You can't expect your tool to work if you don't follow the rules. Get back to basics: 1) Do not drink with meals. You CAN stop doing this. Will it be pleasant? sounds like it won't be. It's a habit that can be broken. Maybe limit yourself to 4 oz a meal at first. Then 3, then 2 and then none. You do NOT need a lot to drink with a meal just to clear your thought. 2) Set up a schedule of eating. 3 meals and 2 snacks. 3 meals - whatever you and your doctor/nutritionist recommends. Prep tomorrow's food today. Again, it's more or less habitual that you're not prepared. 3) Think PEW. Protein, Water, Exercise. Everyday. Every Day. No excuses. You have to do it. You WILL NOT loose weight without all three of them. Find a way to get in protein. Find a way to get in water - without drinking at meals. And move your butt. Every damn day. 4) You did not mention this or not. If you have not thought about counseling - consider it. From what you wrote this is more mental than anything else. I'm sorry if this comes off har****'s not meant to be. It is meant to be firm. I hope you take it as such. You've lost 77 lbs - that's awesome but it's not even close to your potential. Hi Janette Just wanted to let you know were here for you! You say your getting hungry 1 hour after you eat. You also stated you drink with your meals. OK what you are doing is flushing a lot of your food out before it is time. Your fullness should last minimum of 4 hours but that is with one who does not drink with there meals. ( only an hour after) Have you tried eating more moist proteins and foods? Just until you get your body used to the no liquids with meal routine? Like eating chicken with a f/f gravy sauce or pot roast w/ its juices? Stuff of that nature. I know you can turn this around. See you have already completed the 2 biggest steps in your success! You admit there is a problem and you have set up a date with your surgeon! I know when something feels stuck for me it is one of two things. 1 I ate to much or 2 it was way to dry.
