Hi May Babies!! Well, I haven't been on here for a while... mostly because I was still playing that damned "comparison game" every time I came on... I'd see all of you and how much weight you've lost and I'd start playing "how come I haven't lost that much?" and "how come she's in a size 10 already?"... SO, I was actually spending more time depressed than inspired... which is sad... because the postings on here saved me immediately post op!!! BUT, I'm getting past that comparison game now, and realizing that we are all different and all started at different places... I mean I started at 391 lbs. wearing a 6X ~~ So, I guess I'm happy wearing L & XL... and even though I'm still in a 16-18 pants...I guess it's still better than the 32's I was in before!! I also did my measurements... I've lost a total of 90 INCHES!! OH MY GOSH!! And 20 of those inches were from my hips alone!!!! Freaky... I'm trying to get my inches lost table on the profile... just waiting to hear back from OH... ANYWAY... lately I've been "sneaking" on here and looking at the differences in you guys... and it's been so wonderful... it inspired me to post some new pix and to finally update my profile... Anyway... here I am... in all my "glory"... LOL Anyway... I do want to thank you all for sharing your stories... and your pix... you are all inpriring to me!!! I've missed talking to you all!! Love & Hugs, Loree

HI Jennifer... I think I hit a plateau every other week!! LOL Anyway... I haven't been doing too well with my eating... although I do try to eat a protein bar EVERY DAY... I eat the myoplex ones from GNC... either Blueberry or Lemon cheesecake... they have like 28G of protein!! And actually taste pretty good... It's funny... when I HAD to eat them, I hated them... now I actually crave them!! Breakfast is usually a protein bar or a granola bar (I know... bad) Lunch is usually a salad... lettuce, and chicken or cheese and dressing... and I don't make myself eat that nasty low fat or no fat stuff... We deserve to eat the real stuff!!! LOL Dinner is usually chicken, fish or a salad again... I know I'm not the best one to give you any advice here... I tend to munch a bit during the day too... especially if I'm at work... and there are munchies available... BUT, I do go to the gym 3-4 times a week... and I do the eliptical machine for 25-30 minutes (going uphill at usually a level 3 or 4) and then I go on the treadmill and do an "alpine hike" for 35-45 minutes... that goes uphill (I do a 15 incline on that) and then run at 4 minute intervals on it too... (me?? run??? Yup!!) and then I do 300-400 crunches holding my feet in the air... and 2-3 times a week I also do weight training... and 1 day a week I have my trainer... So, I think that with the working out, I make up for whatever bad eating I'm doing... Don't know if this helps... but it's my 2 cents worth! Good luck!! Hugs, Loree -169 lbs.

I've had my consultation and have scheduled my TT surgery for November. My surgeon estimates he'll be removing at least 10lbs of extra skin from my abdomen and will be tightening my stomach muscles. Be sure to ask your surgeon about your belly button and muscle tightening. Believe it or not, not all surgeons will create the new belly button when doing a TT (steer clear of any who won't replace it). Also, there's a great "Plastic Surgery Forum Message Board" right here on OH that has loads of great info. There are also a number of plastic surgeons who monitor the board and respond to questions. There are also loads of people who provide there post surgical photos (for arms, TT, breast lifts, etc.) showing stitches drains etc. Unpleasant, but it gives you an idea of what to expect. Good luck, I'm excited about getting my surgery, but also dreading it too! take care. thx g

Hey Dee Dee .. I too go for my consult on the 25th . I am going so I can get the tummy tuck . What worries me is my surgeon ( wls ) says I may not get it because I really do not have much of an overhang . My stomach went really flat . I do have skin - and I want it gone -but who knows . I see we both have the same ins company . I know my NP says they normally do not approve plastics w gastric bypass patients unless it is medically necessary . I am hoping that they do approve me .. I really want this .. What I really want is the full body lift .. and new boobs.. but hey - I am happy just to be down 175 pounds .. As to questions .. I have no clue what to ask - other than the basic After-care - and surgey techniques . Let me know how it goes and how the insurance does .. that is if you are using the ins - for this . Hugs . Nat

Topic: I NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Hello Fellow Virginian Loosers and soon to be Virginia Loosers, I am writing you this evening to ask for your support . On Wednesday August 17th , I will take part in attending the House Commitee Bill review for HB 1936 . I am going to show my support for this bill so others like myself and you can have the chance at getting this life saving surgery . As we all know Insurance companies are cracking down on the approvals . ( Read more about this bill here : http://obesityvote.com/legislative_bills.htm I need from you to either go in and sign the support page or come with me . It is at 2:00 August 17th . There are directions on the web site . http://obesityvote.com/BreakingNews.htm If you can attend please email me at [email protected] We plan on meeting in front of the capitol building at @ 1 or 1:30 . Below is an expert from the Missions page . Please be sure to stop in and view this site . This is a grass roots effort .. and WE NEED YOU ! As always, I love each of you and thank you for your continued support . Our mission... ObesityVote.com is a grassroots program organized to alert, educate, and inform the public of legislative issues involving obesity and to encourage them to communicate with their legislators by offering them the tools to do so. Why we need ObesityVote.com... Bariatric surgeons across the state of Virginia have watched as the health insurance companies have made access to life-saving surgery nearly impossible for morbidly obese people. A grassroots movement was needed to mobilize the obese population, the formerly-obese population, their friends, families, and other supporters to put the power of the vote to the test. The following Web site has some pretty telling reasons as to why we need ObesityVote.com http://www.obesity.org/treatment/health_plans_cover.shtml Exercise your voice... ObesityVote.com was created to give a voice to the people who have been denied life-saving treatment for morbid obesity and those who have had life-saving weight-loss surgery a chance to share their stories. Our legislators needed to be educated on the truth. They needed to hear from the people, not the special interest groups. ObesityVote.com is the place for people to exercise their voices! http://obesityvote.com/BreakingNews.htm
