It looks like you lost 105 lbs. Both my son Andrew and I had surgery on 5/13/04. I have lost 115-120 lbs. Andrew has lost about 160 lbs. We have both stopped losing after 15 months. I go to gym and work out and watch my diet but this still stays the same. He eats whatever he wants and does not work out at all and still stays the same. You must be doing really good if you only weigh 150-155 lbs. I started out at 332 and only made it to 210. Andrew started out at 356 and is down to 194. I think it gets harder to lose after 15-18 months and I have not been able to lose much more either. My doctor claims that the window closes at about 18 months. Blessings - Lisa

Sorry to hear about the POTS. I went to the site you posted-sounds dreadful! I have some heartbeat irregularity when I stand up (was just thinking about it this morning before I read your post) and now I know I have to get it checked out by the doctor (I was blowing it off). I'm glad to hear you're out of hospital and back to work; I'm hoping that means you're feeling better. Hugs, Susan

Hi Chris. I dont have any adivce on how to lose those pounds but I did want to wish you luck on your TT. I dont know how much you eat or how frequently or what you eat but look into less carbs of course. Take care and good luck with your upcoming surgery. I can't wait for mine.

How long is the window open? I started out at 260 three months out I found out I was preg. still lost while i was preg. but then gained 7lbs thruout. One week after he was born lost 30 lbs. so now i go back and forth 151 - 155 I cant seem to get any more off. And I really don't want it to come back. How can I loose the remaining 15-20lbs.?( I don't mean to sound stupid but I just dont know what else to do) I still feel like the big fat woman and in the mirror I still look like it (to me) except my chin I have one now instead of just a neck. Thanks for any advice and help you can give me. Also it seems like I stay hungry but dont feel hungry (my mind tells me I am but my stomach doesnt feel it)

I had my WLS one year check up at 14 months. My WLS Doc said there would be no need for me to have 15 month check up (because I was doing so well) and he would see me next year at my two year anv date (May 10, 2006). He gave me the green light for PS. I am at goal BMI (23) with a body fat of 23%. As you know everyone recovers diffrently from WLS. When and if you have PS will depend on your individual results.

Hey Nat, I'm down 128lbs with approx 37 to go. (I still can't believe it's under 50!) I've been having some major issues with food, water, vitamins, suppliments, etc.... I've been depressed I think over the past couple weeks and as a result, I've been eating bad foods, not drinking like I'm supposed to, not taking my vitamins or suppliments, and not getting much nutrition in my food choices. No doubt all of that is why I'm feeling so down in the dumps and then I feel even worse when I think of how bad I'm being. I've been throwing up a lot more lately because of my lack of liquids so that has been a wake up call for sure. My DB and I talked last night about it and he's going to help me start eating better, working out, and getting back on track. I just need to have a place to vent and cry to when no one else understands what I'm going through. I'm glad I have you guys!! Ciao, Jessica

Life has finally settled down a bit. I was very ill and in the hospital August 1st-11th (non-gastric bypass related) I have been diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) www.potsplace.com Anyhoo..I'm back to work and after loosing 14 pounds while hospitilized I am happy to say I'm back to 150 and holding steady. I was down to 137 in the hospital and I felt "gaunt" at that weight. Mngal 254/150

Topic: RE: Iron Suppliments
Jessica, There are many names for iron supplement and they all have different dosages depending on the form some names are * ferrous gluconate * feffous sulfate * ferrous fumarate Iron comes in a number of different formulas. Ferrous fumarate is the formula that is typically best absorbed and causes the least amount of constipation, although ferrous sulfate may be the cheapest and easiest to find. Also, taking vitamin C along with iron increases the absorption of the iron. Avoid taking the calcium supplements with the iron, as they interfere with the absorption of each other. I'de try walgreens.com and you'll find a ton of iron supplements Good luck Mngal RNY May 04 254/150
