I am still trying to maintain my weight .. I loose very easy .. and keeping it on is hard .. I know .. sorta the opposite from days past . I am still wearing a size 3 4 and hope this never changes . My friends now call me Tinkerbell .. so I am changing my screen name here to that as well . I love and miss you all .. and hope that your journey is one of many blessings . Natalie - aka TINK

Hey all, it seems no one posts any more. I had a lap done last thursday the 19th. It was pretty simple compared to the by-pass. I had gained back some weight, but have been on liquids since thursday and have taken some back off.Tthe doc also did a scope and said my stoma is a little large. I guess that's why I feel hungry so soon after I eat. I just thought I was a failure as usual!! I will just have to be hungry I guess, and watch much closer. I hope all is well with everyone!! Topic: Cosmetic ?'s and Just an Update Hello!!!
Boy, it has been quite awhile since I posted anything on this site. It is exciting to be back. I had surgery May 4, 04. I have lost 100lbs. The reason I have not lost more is my fault! I can't eat much but, I can eat just about anything created. I still am so blessed to have had surgery. I have had NO complications. Dr. Ozment did such a wonderful job. It truly changed my life. I live in Spring, Tx but, I am wondering...is cosmetic surgery cheaper in Arkansas...just like my surgery was? I was a self-pay and I went to Arkansas mainly for the price. Half price to be exact! I would now love to start my research to have a tummy tuck and possibly a boob lift, boob filling up or some kind of help up there!!! TEEHee! Ain't GOD good Ya'll! Have a blessed day everyone and I hope to hear from you all. Hey, Dr. Ozment patients...come say Hello! LOTS OF LOVE...Brenda in Texas

Happy New Year Jessica. My name is Miyan and I too have had the same problem as what you are describing. I have been to the emergency room numerous of times with this searing pain that makes me want to pass out. The last time I had this episode, my PCP scheduled me to have an Upper GI which showed I have a "slipping" Hiatel Hernia. I am on the same restrictions as if I had acid reflux. I also take an acid relux medication (Protonics) daily. I have been okay since September (knock on wood). My doctor says there is no need to surgically repair it unless it gets worse. She says that in some cases, repairing it does more harm. I am going to get a second opinon from the surgeon that performed my WLS. I wish you luck and pain-free days (and nights). Miyan

Topic: RE: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!Resolutions Anyone?
I don't do resolution - I set goals. My goal last year was met within a few days of the year ending and that was to get my tummy tuck! (They removed 8 lbs of skin....WOWZA). My goal for this year is to become more financially stable, and to get my boobs done. I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year and continues to live a healthy lifestyle in 2006. Much Dee Dee

Topic: RE: Can't stop eating
Just glad to hear I'm not the only one! At about 4 mos post op I found out I was pregnant and now have a beautiful, healthy little girl. I kept losing right up until about my 7th month of pregnancy, got down to 201, then gained about 15 pounds until I had her in the end of June. I promptly lost all those pounds, back down to a 202, but by the end of the summer, I was back up to 208. At my last weigh-in (not on my usual scale, though) I was at 212. NOT GOOD! Anyways, starting yesterday, I am back on plan, doing the normal post-op eating one should, exercising, taking a multi-vit and getting in my fluids. I started at 314, so I've still maintained my over 100 loss, but just barely. I will not let the numbers on the scale creep up any higher. I will be at goal at 160-170 pounds. So, I have a good amount more to go and now I feel I'm doing a lot more of it "on my own", i.e. without the tool. Everyone still compliments me and says I look SO GOOD, especially for having a baby, but I feel my old fat, lazy self and the only thing that's gonna change that is commitment to the lifestyle I haven't quite embraced yet, it would appear. I'll keep you posted periodically on my progress. In the meantime, let's all keep each other in our prayers for success and happiness. We've been through too much to not achieve what we all desire. Happy New Year and God Bless!

Happy New Year!!! Sounds like you're doing well! I do not have any resolutions, but do have goals, like get my resume updated and see what I can do to find a better job in 2006. I just had my reconstructive surgery 11/15/05, and am starting to do much better. I just went shopping because all my pants were big (I was a size 6 petite), and now I am wearing a 3 or 5 in juniors. (I never expected to be this small) It's so hard to hear people tell me that I am tiny, it's weird, but I also love the compliments. I am used to hearing that I am fat, and it's taken 18-19 months to get to were I am. I just need to make sure that I stay where I am at, that's my goal. Hope you have a great year!!! Tricia

I had a TT in Feb. 2005, less than one year out from my GB surgery. My insurance was United Healthcare POS. I used Dr. Marissa Lawrence in Atlanta, and they approved the whole thing. I did not pay a dime. I didn't have to appeal or anything. I belive my insurance's only requirement was that I had lost 100lbs, which I did. 306 lbs. (05/2004) - 185 (1/3/2006) and maintaining

Topic: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!Resolutions Anyone?
Hello May Babies and Happy New Year! I hope '05 was as great for everyone as it was for me. I'm doing great, but still have a couple things I want to work on this year. Resolutions #1 Keep a cleaner house. #2 Exercise more regularly. I bust my hump when school's out during summer and do nothing the rest of the year. Going to change that. #3 STAY in the 140's. I keep bouncing from 146-152. Bounced as high as 160 over the summer, but back to 148 today. I have tons of pictures and keep them very up to date if anyone hasn't seen them. I've very proud of myself and others who use this tool to it's fullest. If you find it isn't working for you SEEK HELP!!!!!! If your surgeon isn't helping talk to your PCP and if he/she doesn't help find a new PCP that will. Happiest of New Years to you all. Christie
