Susan I'll do some checking on when the 5K races are (hopefully at least 4 more months so I could get ready). I have BCBS of MN but we are self funded so our company would have to raise our premiums to have that benefit...I have 3 small children work full time out of the home, so I haven't invested in a gym membership yet. I live in a small town and we do have a place in town that is open 24/7 that has a treadmill, exercise bikes and some limited weights etc. You get a swipe card and I think its only 100/yr. So far I've just been using my own treadmill and I take the stairs at work alot.
I'll post back to ya about the 5k

Rhonda, I am also hypothyroid. I have been taking levothroid since the makers of synthroid refused to submit the drug through the approval process of the FDA. It had been marketed before the process was put in place. I have had no problem since going on Levothroid. Perhaps you could request a referral to an endocrinologist. They specialize in treadment of the endocrine system and disorders of it. It would be a second opinion from an expert. I have not ever heard of a thyroid problem "taking care of itself" It is your health and you must advocate for yourself.. You took charge of the weight issue... Be as assertive with this issue. Good luck. Su Ferguson-Ellia

Melissa, I have bee hovering around 194 for a couple of weeks, but I am not discouraged. I will increase my days and time at the gym this week and all will be well again. I know I will never be a size 4 But I never thought I would see 14-16 again either. It is all good. Don't get discouraged, just keep up the good work and remember where you've been and where you realistically want to be. Good luck Su Ferguson-Ellia May 5, 2004. Starting weight 321.. Current weight 194.. And darn proud of it. I have even taken up cross country skiing at 60 years old! Life is good.
Topic: RE: Today is Sunday...what are you eating???????
Could yeaterday have been any worse with eating????My PMS killed me...cravings went wild yesterday.
For breakfast I ate a snickers marathon bar and then for lunch I tried to eat a beef and broccoli lean cuisine. Well I ate the beef out of it and I was OVER stuffed and a little came up...even though there were only like 5 small pieces. I drank diet cream soda a couple of times (a sip here...a sip there)...I ate mini homemade chocolate chip cookies, 1/2 a cheese burger and then and hour later the other half on the good side I did eat a cottage double & drink carb countdown f/f milk. I also ate 1 1/2 ribs for dinner. Other then that I was just plain AWFUL!! I have not lost anything this month...I went up a few pounds and them lost it but that is it. I am even back up 1.5lbs again. I KNOW if I do not start drinking my protein the scale WILL NOT move...so what keeps me from making it for myself you ask???? WHO KNOWS!!!! lol This morning I will start myself off with a s/f decaf small cup of vanilla coffee...we will see how that goes. Both my cats have the trotts and I have been cleaning up runny crap for the last few days EVERYWHERE....and now today the little girl I babysit was brought to me sick with a fever and bad cough.....CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!! Sorry guys...I just had to share all of that...I will hopefully post better on todays 'what did you eat' thread....hugs to you all

Here is how it developed .. my daughter was moving out and she handed me a pair of the cutest Tommy Hilfger Pants .. she said Mom .. someting tells me you can wear these . They are low rider tight pants .. looks like the fabric from a scottish kilt .. I tried them on .. and wala .. they fit .. so I wore them .My husband about had a cow . He said to me " I know you are not wearing those to work .. I said yepper sure am .. I even told him that my new tatoo will look just wonderful on my lower back .. Am I haunting him or what LOL .
9 months .. the time it takes to make a baby .. and here I sit .. Can not even believe my eyes sometimes .
My mom in law came over last night and she looked at me and said .. Nat you have never been this small .. you skinny little thang .. and I am now one size from my skinny sister .. who never had a weight problem .. so there was a skinny woman under all that fat .. I used to say I was just big boned .. nope I have the same bone structure as my mom and sis .. WOW .. just wish my Dad could see this . I hope he can from up in Heaven .
Well have a great Monday and enjoy the week .
