Dear LA, Boy are we almost the same! I started out at 329 and am now at 208 and can't seem to get past it! I know I also have not been making the best food choices, but sometimes it is so hard. It gets so boring! Irish Pixie had a good idea-let's start sharing some recipes, or at least some menu ideas for the day! I seem to do better when I plan out ahead of time what I am going to eat for which meal. I'll keep watching to see if anything develops from this idea! Keep up the good work-you've done great so far!!!

I get the bag chicken from Sams...the honey mustard is my fav. and the carb count is low and i do that in the micro with a veggie or just the chicken, i do chicken, cabbage and veggie soups i am a huge soup lover so i make i thick and dont have any problem with hunger, lots of cheese or boiled eggs ...beef sausage thingys i just try to stay away from high fat but i do protein first, then i look at the carbs..good luck and let me know how it goes..you all have helped me so much i get great ideas from you all...

Topic: RE: Carb Count--how much??
I occationally have bread. I buy a low carb, high protein whole grain bread. I think it's by Peppridge Farm. 1 slice has 5 grams of protein, and occational I will have 1 slice, and make a 1/2 sandwich, or put some pizza sauce and cheese and have a pizza bread. It's filling and good, and enough carbs to add to my day, and not that many that I will be having too many carbs. My daily carbs including veggies and everything, (shake and carb countdown milk), is usually 20-50 a day. My doctor told me not to count carbs, only to worry about protein, but I want to make sure how many calories, and everything I get in a day. When I stay below 50 carbs and under 1000 calories a day, I seem to lose. Tricia

My thought is .. make ever bite count .. so for new food ideas.. I went to a woman that post on here . Her name is TOOTER . I signed up for her weekly news letter , and she offers great reciepes . Go to her profile and click on her web page . Or go to bariatricbytes.com and sign up .. look around . She is a long term post op with great success . Maybe we should all start sharing recipes too .. For a change of pace .. look into the South Beach Diet .. OMG I found the recipe book and it is awesome . It is low carb and so much better than the Atkins diet . Great luck to you , Nat
