Topic: RE: MOnday what did you eat today?
Hey Christine!! We just started trying this past month. Our son has been wanting a brother or sister, but when I was so big I only had a period about every 3 months. ITs scary, we really want another baby, but I dont want to get morbidly obese again. It was a decision that we said if it happens it was meant to be. I started doing research for pregnancy after GBS, and found alot of positive info. I was given the go ahead to try to conceive. It will be different than before GBS, and my Drs will work with me for both the babies health, and for me to gain very little without putting baby in any harm. If the results come back positive, there will be alot of celbrating going on here, and baby comes first, then my weight issue.- Melissa
Topic: RE: Am I the only one in size 18's?
I feel soooo much better after reading everyone's posts. I too am wearing an 18 down from a 30/32. I've lost 132 pounds as of today but I was still feeling like I wasn't doing as well as everyone else at goal or almost at goal. I'm 58 pounds away from my goal right now and hopefully I will make it. Good luck to all of yall. We're all a lot better off than we were a year ago. Debra

Toni.....
You made me chuckle at your post. I suppose the size 10 slam was directed at me...lol I know you are not calling anyone a liar..I didn't take it that way at all....I guess it really depends on what type of clothing you wear(style and brand) and your body shape. I have NO clue how I am 5'3 157.5lbs and wearing a size 10. I don't believe it myself at times. When I try on things I swear that the 'next' size 10 will in no way fit...but they all do. My body is pretty proportioned but with a little extra on the bottom half. I have no had a tummy tuck yet but I will in the next few months. I bet that one day you will wake up a few sizes smaller. I can tell you that I wear low rise jeans and if I wore the ones that fit all the way up to my waist....they have to be a size bigger because of my hernia. My hips are only 38in and my waist is 30in because of the hernia. I AM SURE you are by no means 'fat'...we have all come a long way and what is important is that we are ALL WAY more healthier then we were 10mo ago!! A size is 'JUST' a number and how we feel means way more. HUGS to you all......

Laura please don't be put off by those size 6-8 posts. You have to
realize that size means virtually nothing these days. The clothing
manufacturers' sizes are all over the board . I am 5' 3" and 177
lbs and I still wear a size 18 in some pants, and a 14 in others! Jeans
are different than non-stretch slacks. Women's sizes are different
than straight sizes. You can shop in several stores and come out
with several different sizes which may fit you.
Even when I weighed
135 lbs, I was never a size 5 , never. In high school I weighed
115 lbs and I wore a 7-9. That was in the 1960's and I know they cut
clothing a lot larger now. Believe me, if the clothing industry went back
to the measurements they used in the 1960's and they all used the same
standards, no stretchy fabrics etc. people would be wearing a lot
larger sizes than they do now. It would be interesting to find a vintage
clothing store and compare a size 8 from the 60's to a size 8 now in a standard dress. LOL Tootsie

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone *****sponded!!! I am truly grateful to all of you for raising me out of this little funk I let myself get into. You are all right about everything. Everyone starts at a different weight, and we each have very unique shapes. I am 5' 3" and started at 329. I am now down to 207. Quite an accomplishment for 9 months!! I am so proud of each and every one of you and also very happy to be part of such a thoughtful and caring bunch of people. All of you take care and be happy!!

Dear Tricia, thanks for the compliment-I really appreciate it. You're right, I shouldn't compare, but I always do. I am only 5'3" so that has some to do with it too. I started out wearing 28's and I'm really not complaining, although I know it sounds that way, so thanks again for cheering me up! You are doing GREAT!!! We all are and I need to remember that and stop trying to compare so much. Take care and God bless!!
