I tried my hardest to pick nutritious snacks, with me not being a big veggie or fruit eater. One day maybe I will eat as healthy as your choices, lol. You make wonderful choices and stick to your guns. Keep up the good work, and I wish you the best in finding healthy alternative foods to keep you from losing more weight.- Melissa

Topic: RE: Need help with baby names!!
Mackenzie was one of the names we initially had in our list, then we decided between mattea, madyson, and marissa. Just not sure which one, lol. Ive had alot of emails from friends and family that like Mattea, and then quite a few from here pick Marissa, and Madyson. Ill keep everyone posted on what name we go with if it is a girl. If it is a boy it will be STephen Alexander.- Melissa

IT HASN'T BEEN A YEAR AND I ONLY HAVE SIX MORE LBS TO LOOSE. IT FEELS GREAT TO BE WEARING 10 PANTS AND 12 JACKETS. THAT IS GREAT COMING FROM SIZE 20. IT IS A LITTLE SCARRY LOOKING ING THE MIRROR . I STILL EXPECT TO SEE THE OLD ME!

1) What is your strangest, wildest, or silliest goal after losing the weight. I don't know if these are that out there... I want to hike the Grand Canyon and I want to run one 5K race once a month from 1 year out. I am ahead of my goal and will run my first this month. 2) Do you have any tattoos, If so, how many and where? Nope, I am a chicken. There isn't much that I want on me forever. OK, maybe a monkey (Curious George RULES) - but I am afraid they won't get the right look and I would be screwed. 3) What was the DEFINING moment that led you to choose weight loss surgery. This is a bit embaressing but when my endocrynologist told hormone condition was obesity related and the hormone supplements he was prescribing were akin to chemical castration. That was it for me. (OMG - A guy thinking with his you know what???)

Topic: RE: Space Issues
Hi Traci, Thanks for the interesting post. As someone who's been fat and thin(ish) and fat again repeatedly, I too am very sensitive to the way people treat fat people differently. For me though the difference is in how much smarter I seem to be when I'm thin. It's odd how when I'm heavier, people don't seem to value my work or my opinion very much -- there's a big discount applied to fat people. When I'm thin, suddenly people are looking me in the eye and listening to what I say and taking it seriously. What's up with that???? And yes, part of it is improved self-esteem -- but I think that's not the largest part. A friend told me recently that I "radiate self-confidence" now -- but inside I'm just as insecure as I've always been. I just look better. Weird, huh? Hopefully those of us who know what it's like on both sides of this great divide will remember ourselves as fat, and not fall into the same prejudices as other never-been-there people.
