Hi,

I haven't been around OH in forever! I just thought I'd stop by today and see who was still coming round and how others were doing.

I did great for 4 years. Started gaining after I had a hysterectomy just under 2 years ago. I'm up to 185-190 I think. I haven't weighed in a few weeks. Amazing how quickly it's come back on. I stayed around 150 for over 4 years. I've gone from size 6/8 to a size 16. It's just unreal to think about.  I'm still much healthier than when I had surgery. I still ride bikes a few times a week. I still jump on the trampoline with my 9 year old. I just don't like the way I look. I miss wearing heels and cute clothes.

I've thought about a revision, but I really don't know that it'd help. I don't know if I'd qualify either.

We shall see I suppose. Hope to be back here more often now.

I still come around sometimes.  It seems know one comes here anymore.  I have had three  babies since 2007.  My youngest is two months now.  I am unhappy that I weigh 167 right now.  I have never gotten under 148.  I am trying to stop eating so much since I had him but failing.  Hoping that I will kick start everything going again soon because I have to do a liquid diet for a few days due to having some spots removed.  How are you doing?

Hi..

Does anyone still roam around on this forum?  I usually post on another and thought I would check this one out as not been here in a longggggg time.

Just curious how everyone is doing  ??

How's your life 6 years from WLS ??

Hi Sharekia
I haven't had revision just yet but I am looking into. I was 345 prior to surgery got down to 220 got pregnant in 2006 but didn't gain a pound started gaining after I got the shot and made it back to 268--in the last 6months I have made it back up to 291 and can't stop gaining. I had surgery on last week with my doctor due to some adominal burning and pain that I had been having and after the doctor went in he stated that the opening to my stomach has enlarged which is causing me to be able to take in a lot more so he says that we can look at some revision options. I am scheduled to go back on next week. If you want to keep in touch then email me at [email protected] because I don't always get up here and check my account. Good luck with what ever you decide.

My first thought is why are you eating 4 bagels a day?
How often are you eating?
If this is all you eat, your body may very well just be stuck in a rut.
You may not be eating enough for your body weight, either.
I still eat 3 meals a day and snacks too.
How much are you eating at one sitting?

Topic: RE: 5 years post op and IRON DEFICIENCY
I had iron deficiency issues also.  But had iron infusion a little over a year ago.  I eating ice like a maniac!! All I thought about was ICE, which is a sign of iron deficiency. It is an 8 hr procedure, they hook you up to an IV with a couple of bags of iron, looks like chocolate.  They gave me high dose of something to help me relax.  But I could not sleep because I was first not able to lay down in the chair I was in, and second I was in a cancer center where people were in and out constantly.  Otherwise, when it was over with, I was immediately cured of the ice eating.  I mean I had NO taste for ice again.  I am able to eat a little ice now, but not like I was before.  I can let it go!!  There is nothing to worry about.

Sharekia, hi - weight regain at the 5-year post-op and beyond is unfortunately extremely common. For those of us prone to emotional eating or any food addictions (e.g., chocolate, sweets), it becomes nearly impossible to reverse once the onslaught of regain begins. There is a Revision Board on this site, have you checked into that? Best of luck - I wish I had the answers... Please let me know how you are doing. Maureen

Topic: RE: DUMPING AGAIN!! BADLY
I still dump too, but what is strange is not all the time.  And milk does it to me too.  Ice cream even more.    Other than that, I really have no complaints.

Our anatomy was permanently changed, so I can't see a reason why the dumping would not happen.
