Hi There, well i cannot eat salad,pasta,bread, just sits like a roc****ill i
throw up. But all fruits except oranges are fine as long as i take off the skin, i can eat a whole banana or apple Meat mmmmm ! not to good with
that all depends how my pouch is that day it has a mind of its,own most of the time,but all in all iam pretty good with most things and thank goodness i have never DUMPED i have felt horriblely uncomftable but no
dumping.my surgeon said to give things a try your pouch will deciede if your gonna keep it or not, Boy how true is that. So i always try new stuff
and am down to 140lbs so iam really happy with that only 5lbs till goal.
But really this is the wildest journey i have ever been on.!! maggie

I realize where you're coming from, but you're very wrong.
1.) I'm not eating anything that I want.. That's why I'm frustrated... If I was still eating like I was before surgery, then where would I have to complain?
2.) My Dr. has a bad habit of accusing me (much like you have) of not following all the rules. I can't go to him with questions like that... That's why I came to this site where I thought people were supposed to help you. To answer your implied question, all I eat is MEAT.. NOTHING else. So I'm def getting my protein in.
3.) I'm doing 30 minutes a day of exercise, which is way more than I imagine any "smaller person" does to keep in shape. It doesn't seem to be helping at all and I implemented it well over two months ago when I first stopped losing weight. So for you information, I am not doing an hour a day, but I'm certainly not using that as an excuse for not doing any.
And might I just say, it sure is easy for people who start off at 268 to judge people that have a lot more to lose. I don't imagine you had such a hard time like I'm having because you have HALF the amount of weight to lose. So please don't judge me and just assume I'm being lazy and not eating right.

coffee, splenda 3 packs and 2 tbs of cream
L- chicken and veggie soup 1 cup and yogurt
s - protein bar
D- pizza and salad..pizza for the kiddies and hubby and a salad and or soup for me....

P.S. probably some sf ice cream for me also maybe eddy's sf cookie dough ice cream about a cup or so maybe less and excersize tomorrow..a walk i am getting there...

Ok, at the risk or being "flamed" or "insensitive"...I'll apologize right up front...
1) "I can eat ANYTHING and never get sick, except Ice Cream which got me sick b4 WLS"......... Because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. I read into this you are eating things you KNOW aren't the best choices ...but, I could be wrong?
2) 5 month plateau --- If you are doing EXACTLY what you are suppose to, eating correctly, moderate exercise, drinking your water... then YES, this is a long plateau -- call you Dr & get checked out. However, if the answer is NO....then, it's probably just that, bad choices. As with any plateau... you MUST GET BACK TO THE BASICS. Protein, Protein, Protein first, then fruit/veggie, then min amts of complex carbs, some kind of exercise.
3) How much excercise are we suppose to get? You answered your own question.....by what your Dr told you. Is that reasonable?... to me I don't have the time for a hour a day. I am the worse at getting in regular exercise and only just recenly started taking Dance classes 2x a week, because I'll do that, where I won't go to the gym. ANY moderate exercise will help. Find a happy medium that works for you. Even "unplanned exercise"...taking stairs, parking farther away, etc. helps. Don't use the "my Dr said an hour a day" and I can't do that...as an excuse for not doing any at all.
4) Blood work fine you feel good. This is GREAT! one less thing to worry about... Worried you won't loose any more...Refer to #2
As you know, this is a tough journey. Some sail thru, others encounter every obstacle known and then some, this is definitely not easy.
Please know that is mean in Love & Support --- been there, don't that got the T-shirt. I don't have all the answers, can only provide opionions & insight based on my own journey & experience.

Congrats! you are doing so well! I have to giggle though... you say you are a 8 and hope to get to a 6, this is where you'll stop.
Well.....don't be too surprized if you end up a 4 or even a 2.....our bodies seem to have a mind of their own, and what we "think" will be...ain't necessarily so. I am tall (6')... put my goal at 168 (extremely reasonable-low to some), figured I'd be perfect at a 12...even a 14 was great. Imagine my surprize...I'm 157, size 6-8. I was sure something was wrong, I held at 169 for a couple of months. Figured this was my "normal weight" and was thrilled...then, opps, down to 161, then 157. It scared the bejesus out of me so off to my Dr I ran. Guess what.... I am perfectly within my "normal" range & nothing is wrong... who da thought.
Mind you I wasn't exercising. So, to maintain and stop loosing I added back healthy snacks 3 x a day to up my calories. Then, I decided I needed some exercise. Started dance classes about 3 weeks ago...oopps...didn't take into account the extra exercise...dropped 4 lbs the first week...Back to the drawing board, have to UP the calories in my snacks/meals to make up for the extra exercise.
I am leveling out at 157 and I am thrilled. I have to work hard at keeping up the calories in a Healthy way, so I don't loose any more. I am working hard at learning to accept, embrace & love the new me.
In most cases (except the extreme) our bodies will stop at a "natural" healthy weight...it just isn't always what we "think" it should be... and actually can be higher or lower depending on our individual situation.

Hello there...well I am holding steady at the 200.2 to 202 mark started at 297 would like to be around 165-175 not to sure...I am in a 14 so thats alot of progress I feel great labs are good..I am eating okay i don't do more than a few grams of sugar i stay sf if i want something sweet....i know my problem in excersize and as soon as i make time to do it i am sure the rest will come off...i have been very bad making time for it so no one to blame but myself i am going to get my hubby fixed and get off these bc shots they are making me feel bloated and yucky and i think to fully get the maximum wgt loss i need to get of them and get my system normal again..i adore you all and the inspiration i get from you...i will be very disappointed in myself if i can not get to goal by my 1 yr mark which means i better get my butt moving...i have looked into plastics for my tt and my implants to fill the empty space i am looking at about 10 grand without insurance paying i can file for the tt after the procedure if the dr. recommends it but cant get pre approval so i am still working on that..thanks for asking and thanks for always being there..love you may babies...!!!

Hi Ladies- I am at a very slow (snail's) pace also right now. I started at
255.5 and am currently at 177.5. It is very discouraging. I have only
lost 20 lbs since Oct 1,and at this rate it could be a real long time before
I get to the Dr. goal for me of 135 lbs! I read about people *****ach the
century mark so fast and I don't know what else to do to speed things up.
I am positive that I am not over-eating or eating the wrong foods.
Maybe like someone said in a previous post, we should do something
drastically different for a few days to get the body out of it's lull?
I know there are people out there whose goal is 175--but I am only
5'3" and I am still obese at this weight. Any ideas for growing another
5 inches??? LOL.

I am not worthy of even posting for yesterday....lol
I ate homemade mini sweet potato muffins all morning and afternoon!!!
For dinner I had a few bites of a american hoagie but those few bite had bread so it swelled right up and made me too full!!! Will I ever learn!!
I didn't even drink much as far as fliuds yesterday either....I will try to do better today!

Good Morning and Congrats on you success.
I am down from 257 to 176.5, can you say excited. My goal is 150 so less that 30 lbs. My number one goal when starting this process was to be healthy and I am. My labs are great. I just got life insurance which before surgery I had been deny twice and now it has been approved. I never wanted to be thin, I like my curves. I am looking at a size 10-12.
I can eat most anything but not alot of it at once and one day it will agree with me and the next day it won't. I have to watch it. The only protein that I have found that gives me problems is pork chops and before surgery they were my favorite. Now I have to say steak is. We live on a farm and have our own meat in the freezer so I can have steak whenever and I have no problem with it.

Ok May Babies .. should we still be calling ourselves this .. it has been almost 10 months !
Tell me how you are doing , what accomplishments you have made so far . What are your goals now .. your dreams for the future . Your weight loss ... any food issues ..
For me .. I am down 144 pounds .. still loosing .. I am now a size 8 and hope to get to a size 6 . That is where I will stop . I am still struggling to eat a lot but I do get in my protein . I have a lot of loose skin that I am about to get rid of . I am researching a hospital here that does free plastic surgery for burn patients and hope they will take me .
I have dreams of going to the theme parks around here this summer and scaring myself to pieces .. Last year I could not fit in the seats ..
Well .. tell us how you have been ..
