Hey Nat, I can't believe we have come so far in as little as a year. On Mother's Day is my daughters' dance recital. They have a mother/daughter dance routine. I am actually rehearsing for it and I am going to be on stage with my two daughters. Last year at this time I would not dream of doing that. Life is better than ever and I am so proud of myself and all the other May Babies out there!!!!!!!! Hugs, Christine

Topic: RE: PLASTIC SURGERY HELP
I had my abdominoplasty on 3-23. I also had a hernia repair. Fortunately ChampVa insurance is pretty good about covering panniculectomy and hernia repair after gastric bypass. My doctor sent it in to my insurance company that he did a panniculectomy (technically he DID remove the extra skin) and as far as the abdominal tightening goes he considered that a part of the hernia repair, to prevent future hernias as well because of the damage to the tissue that holds my muscles together. Now we didn't exactly TALK about how he was submitting it to the insurance company but I know what he told me about the procedures he was doing... and I saw a copy of the letter and paperwork that went to the insurance company. He didn't really lie, but he definitely used some loopholes to make sure it all went through. I am still on Lortab and Valium daily. I usually don't go for the painkillers but the Valium has been great for my muscle spasms (while my muscles are waking up). I'm up and about and not having any trouble moving around. I still walked a bit hunched over but this is getting better and better. My tummy is flat though Monica

Hi Allison, I just talked to Melissa on Wednesday. Her Mom is there and they have been buying out the stores getting baby items. LOL Needless to say, she has been busy and hasn't had time to post or even get on the computer. Plus her son is home on Spring Break this week. Thank God they all go back Monday, my girl is driving me crazy!! LOL She will be back next week. I am calling her either tonight or later on this weekend. To be honest, I don't know what I would do without her. She is my best friend and I love her dearly. I can't wait until the baby is here. I am going down there, about 3 or 4 hours away, when the little one comes. Anyway, back to my daily eating which is not going so good. B cc smoothie L not sure. Not hungery at all but it is time. Maybe I will have a Morning Start Chocolate Crisp or beef jerky or a salad with cheese and meats. A chef salad. D Will be 3 to 4 oz of cubed steak and if I have room, a salad, maybe spinach No snacking for me. I am lucky to even eat now. I guess where I am drinking so much I just don't have room. Toni

First, it was Billy Crystal doing Fernando Lamas who said "You look M A R V A L O U S Daring". My life is in some ways completely different and in some ways the same. 1) I have lost over 180 pounds since my consult and over 170 since surgery. 2) My health issues have all cleared up. No more sleep apnea, GERD (which I didn't know I had before my endoscopy), and my compressed nerve along with all the pain and numbness that was associate with it). 3) I have run a 5K race in 36:08 at nearly 11 months post-op. My goal is to be under 36:00 by my 1 year mark. I am planning on another race near the end of April. Eight stinking seconds! 4) I love my wife more each day. She has been very supportive through everything. My goal is still 210. I was hoping to loose 200 pounds this first year - I will most likely miss that but it was never offically a 'goal'. I will continuing to run and exercise - each month I add new things and change it up. Running isn't always fun. But, I love the pilates with the big ball. I am thinking Yoga next.
