I am 5'3" and I have lost 82 lbs. I am up and down up and down. I had an appointment with PCP today as I am having gallbladder attacks. My PCP says it has to come out so I will see a surgeon tomorrow. I really think this has contributed to my slow down, at least I hope it is and when I get it out things will speed up again. I only need to lose 25 lbs to get to my goal as my wl surgeon never gave me a goal. Love and Prayers Patsy

Emma, You are seeming to eat more than what I can, however your choices are much healthier. I get my protein in by my food if I can, and if I am low for the day I have an extra protein drink to get it where I need it. YOur food and snacks are all great choices. If you have seen some of my older posts, I dont snack well. way too many carbs, and some sugar too. I have been trying to eat healthier. im having touble lately, it seems everything I choose to eat makes me naucious except for spaghetti, and liquids. I have tried jello and pudding like on our liquid diets postop, and they dont make me feel sick either. If this keeps up I will probably stick with a liquid diet and more supplements, and protein drinks to make sure I get all my nutrients in. You are doing great, and looks like you are so close to reaching your goal!!!! I hope to make and stick to better choices. Hopefully after the baby is born I can get right on track to getting towards my goal weight also. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see you posting more, I can get some great food ideas when I see what others are eating, lol- Melissa

I'm 5"1'. I reached the century mark at the 9 month point. I had surgery 5/10/04. I started out 235.5 lbs with a BMI around 45. To date I weigh 131 lbs with a BMI of 24.6-8. (BMI under 25 puts me at a normal weight and not overweight). I too walk, walk, and walk. I walk everywhere. I do own a car, however if I can walk to my destination I will. When I go shopping whether the mall or grocery shopping, I park my car as far away from the entrance as I can. I look for every opportunity to take stairs instead of an elevator. Eleven moths ago on the day I was released from the hospital. I went home slipped on a pair of terry cloth flip flops and shuffled down around the roads (live in a rural area, no sidewalks). I told myself if I can walk through the pain and recovery of the surgery than as I got better it would never be as bad. I was right. I walk and jog all the time. Don't get me wrong when I first started out, I hurt all over, especially my knees and thighs. My husband would help me put ice packs on for twenty minutes on and 45 minutes off. I have a pair of Layne Giant; I mean Layne Bryant pants size 22 (They used to fit tight). I am now in 1s,2s,3s, and 4s. I actually weigh less and wear a smaller size than my 21 year old daughter. I too am a Sugar Free Jell-O fan. It really kills the sweet tooth craving and you get in liquids. I also take my vitamins and drink soy protein smoothies on a regular basis. Its been a long time since I have been referred to as being truly "petite". Cat

Topic: RE: Monday's Eating!!!
I was in New York for a long weekend, and have no milk or food. So tonight I have to do some grocery shopping. Anyways, since I had no food for Breakfast I picked up from a restaurant: 1 egg overeasy, I ate 2 slices of bacon, and ate about an once of the hashbrowns (I know, bad, but they looked so good) I haven't had a snack, and for lunch I think I'll eat another slice of bacon that is left, and 1 slice of wheat toast. For dinner, I will probably have a protein shake (gotto go buy my carb countdown), and tomorrow, I will be on track again. I hated NY!!!! The lights were beautiful in the evening, but way too many people...couldn't even walk around the city. I though Chicago was bad, no way!! Tricia

Why do we need 140g? That seems like alot!!! Then you add all the extra calories in, how will we lose weight? Wouldn't we maintain? I am not ready to maintain. I usually get in 60-90 grams of protein and 700-1000 calories a day as is. Just curious, if you could help me understand, because my doc says that my eating and calories and protein intake are great! Thanks!! Tricia
