Topic: RE: How much have YOU lost?
Hi!
pre op weight 254
today's weight 149
Total weight loss 105 pounds!!!!!
Before surgery, I was on high blood pressure meds, acid reflux meds, my knees were so bad I had 2 knee surgeries. Now I am off all meds, I can fly up a flight of stairs!! This is the best thing that I have ever done for myself, and my family!!! Even though I have been stuck at 149 for well over a month, it's okay. I know the scale will eventually move. I would like to go down another 15 pounds.
Take Care Everyone,
Teri

Hi
Height - 5'2 1/2" (I think, I am going to check that at my next visit at the end of may.)
Pre-Op weight: 247 lbs
Pre-Op BMI: 44.5
Post-Op weight: 145 lbs.
Post-Op BMI: 26.1
Goal Weight: 130 - 15 more pounds to goal. I feel that I'll meet my dr's goal at around 13-14 months post-op. I am losing very slow these past few months.
I am going to be posting a new picture on my profile, probably sometime this weekend. I am so much more healthier now. I am off my bp meds and can bend over to tie my shoe. I can exercise for an hour now, before I was lucky if I could move around for 10 minutes. I have so much more energy, I can run around and play with my daughter, jumprope, etc. Lets all keep up the good work!!

OK, finally, I am just too excited!!
I started out at 270...5'4"...although my kids say I am shorter...but, I am not.
I am now at 190...and still 5'4".
I have finally gotten off my plateau, of about 5 months, and lost 10 pounds these last two weeks. I started walking again, mostly everyday, when it doesn't rain!! But, it seems like I am eating more. Go figure!!
I will take it!!
So I have lost...80 pounds!! Oh Yeahh!!!!!
Someone needs to add these up, the next one to post...I am not the best at math!!

I began this journey a very sick person . I was Diabetic ... I had 11 surgeries prior to remove tumors . I could not walk barely due to the weight . NOW...
I am diabetic free ...I can Run ! I have more energy now then I know what to do with . My health is awesome !!! I am so full of life now . I would do this surgery everyday to get the results I have . I am now trying to get the last 5 pounds off but I am not sweating it . It will happen . My biggest Goal is to become an advocate of this surgery , I have done that by starting the first Gastric Bypass Support group here in my area . I want to scream it from the roof tops ...
I am happier now of who I am than I have ever been . I only wish I had done this years ago .. But the wait was worth it .
Take care .

I started this thread at one and (I think?) three months post op...Why not have an 11-month check up? Our REbirthdays are right around the corner!
Height: 5'8" (surprise surprise, I've grown two inches since I had my surgery! Probably because my back isn't bent over so badly!)
Pre-Op weight: 315 lbs.
Pre-Op BMI: 45.5
Post-Op weight: 165 lbs.
Post-Op BMI: 25.5
Goal Weight: My goal was 160...I'll meet it before the one year mark, and probably go down even farther, whoo-hoo!
Total Weight Lost So Far: 145 lbs.
I feel very, very lucky. I've never noticed any plateus, and never noticed any gains...I only weigh myself every two weeks now.
I'm SO very happy with everything...Even with the neuropathy, I would do it ALL over again in a heartbeat.
I posted some new photos in my profile the other day, if anyone wants to take a gander.
So...Now that my info is public...Time for YOU to brag, too! I'm proud of you all!

Topic: RE: If I drink Protein and Eat .. Will I gain weight ??
Natalie,
I needed that!!! ~*~*~~*~*~*~
I have been 'off the computer' and have missed the support. I now have a decent internet connection and AM BACK!!!
I am having my first 'kinda plateau' at 11 months out and I am very close to what I consider my goal....170 lbs. Of course, I'd like to weigh 130 but my doctor says that would be TOO MUCH!! and I am trusting him on that one.
I am trying to dump that last 7 lbs and its tough!!! Gotta get myself to exercise more.
Glad to see my 'May Buddies' and their posts. Keeping in touch really helps.

Topic: RE: Last 33 pounds
Hi Everyone-Yep, I'm there too! I'd like to get down to 150 lbs. but
I'm wondering if that's ever gonna happen! I hover between 180-185.
Up, down, up, down. My appetite is up there too! Sometimes, I just
want to eat all the time! I'm keeping it in check for the most part-but
sometimes it gets the better of me. It depresses me too. Luckily, I
didn't have any complications, and I thank God for that, but I'm also
wondering if maybe I shouldn't just try to accept myself at this weight
in the event that this is all I'm going to lose. My nutritionist did say
when I saw her the last time back in December, that I would only lose
about 5 lbs. a month tops now, and it has been about that, give or take
a couple of pounds, but it sure is discouraging when you are used to
losing so quickly. Congrats to all of u****ting our 1 year anniversary,
as I will be on May 13 of this year!
continued good luck and success to all!!!!!!! Linda
