Topic: 1st Year Anniversary
May 7 was my 1st year anniversary! I am down 80 pounds. I look and most important, feel great. I did think I would lose more weight by now, but I took a good look in the mirror at this brand new person and reminded myself how far I have come. I was squeezing into my size 22 and now can fit, not squeeze into a size 14. I am off all medications (diabetes/hypertension and arthritis)! That in itself is a miracle. Every morning when I take my vitamins, I remember just one year ago I was taking 5 different, very expensive potent pills and feeling lousy! I exercise at least 3 times a week and really exercise, not just sit on the bike staring at everyone else in the gym. I can walk, what seems like forever, without thinking about my knee pain. Everyone I meet compliments me on how great I look. I am very, very pleased with the results of my surgery. I do want to loose about 30 pounds more and know that if I keep up the way I am going I will definitely do just that. I am so grateful to God for bringing me through this and supporting me as I continue on this journey to health. My family (husband and daughters) have encouraged, cheered me on whenever I was a little down. They are almost as proud as I am of the new me! I tell them each day, how important their support was, and is to me. To them, I say For those who might be considering surgery, please know this is definitely not the easy way out, as some may think. It is an excellent tool that will allow you to finally make some progress in the right direction. You must use the tool wisely to get the results you want. Good luck and God bless to you all. This past year has been one fantastic ride, and the best part is that it's not over yet. Looking forward to plastic surgery, came this far, there's no turning me back!

Topic: RE: ITs Saturday what did you eat today?!
Can you believe it!!!!!! 80's all this week!!!! I know what you are going to do all this week you lucky thing. SWIM!!!!!!!! Grandma is home but not doing so hot. I hope she gets better than she is now. This weekend was a very bad weekend. We ate out all weekend long in Lexington. We ate at Applebees, Ryans, wafflehouse, and we had shrimp ****tail at granny's house for the derby party. We snacked at my brothers house all night long Friday and Saturday. I think I ate more this weekend than I have in months. LOL Thank God it is all over. However I didn't eat anything bad for me, well I did have one very small strawberry covered in chocolate. That was the worst thing, so not to bad this weekend. But now it is time to get serious again. Buggie is bugging me about June still. She wants to go down the new water thingy. LOL She wishes it was this week. LOL I gotta go fix a snack now, she will be home in 20 minutes wanting her snack. She watched Drop Dead Fred last night and loves it. LOL

Beautifully put by a beautiful young woman. Break out of that cocoon....rediscovery is wonderful. Take risks, move out of your comfort zone...one baby step at a time; it is exhilarating & leads to real growth. Just remember not to leave those around you in the dust as you begin to soar, include them in as much of this journey as possible. Help them to understand and celebrate your changes and growth. Help them to see that while you have changed....they are positive changes. Congratulations & Wishing you continued success, Pam RNY 5/13/04 268/155 below goal & maintaining

Not to pry but could you be pregnant? Fainting and headaches can occur when you are pregnant.

Topic: Fainting/lightheadedness
Ok...I'm almost a year post op....down just over 100lbs and at goal...a few weeks back I broke my toe...then I started having really bad headaches. The headaches have been pretty consistent over the past 2 weeks...and then starting yesterday I've been having lightheadedness and even had a fainting spell yesterday. I actually could have fainted 3 times, but I was able to stop the other 2 from happening since I could feel them coming on. Last week I thought maybe I was getting dehydrated or something, so I upped my fluid intake and it just seems to have made it worse. I've had normal labs...so I don't know what could be going on. I'm thinking maybe I have poor muscle tone or something, since I don't work out regularly...just walk and keep after my kids. If I'm malnourished, wouldn't labs show that? I'm just confused, because I had been doing really well, then all of a sudden over the past month I've been having these issues. Thanks for any input you can give me...yes, I have a call in to my regular doc...should I also call my surgeon's office? Andrea
