so i've finally gotten the courage to log back in to this site and try to reach out and find some support and encouragement. i haven't lost anything in months...all of my own doing of course. i've re-discovered my emotional/stress eating and grazing again and haven't been doing much for exercise and it shows. i've lost about 100 pounds and still would like to loose about 60-70 more and am thinking about going on Jenny Craig. I have a lifetime membership from years ago and think that having a more scheduled approach to eating (even out of a box) might help to put things back into perspective for me and having some one of one live support and encouragement to give me that extra push. i'm just frustrated at myself for not having lost more...or having the willpower or whatever to do this on my own. i've battled my weight my entire life and have lost 100 pounds on several different occassions before only to gain it back. good thing now is that while i'm not loosing right now...i'm not gaining. anyone else try or thinking about trying jenny craig or weigh****chers or something to help get off the last bit of weight? thanks. amanda 310/208...would love to see 160...

I sooooo feel for you. I had surgery on May 7, 2004 and I am very thankful for it. I am also very glad for the people who have had it and have gotten to goal but I am not one of them. Here is my story. I started at 257 and I am now 187. The lowest I got was 175 and that was for a day (I am serious) I think the scales were wrong as I was back up to 182 the next day. I had this surgery for health reason, high blood pressure, high cholestrol, and a diabetic. I have none of these now everything is normal including all of my lab work. But I still would like to get to 150 and by the BMI calculator I would still be overweight as I am 5'3" tall. I walk most weeks 5 days a week for 1 hour. I has been several month since I have lost anything. If you find an answer please let me know. It does get discouraging as most people on here talk about being at goal and we don't hear much from those that haven't. I pray for success for all of us. Love and Prayers Patsy

well, i called the JC center near me and have an appointment tonight to get back on that plan. i figure since i have the lifetime membership from before, i've got to give it a try. i don't do much cooking at home so i think going back to eating pre-packaged stuff for awhile might be a good idea to get me re-focused. i'm also in a better financial place now so the cost of the program food won't be as much of a burden as it was when i was in my early 20's. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes. thanks so much for sharing your experiences and struggles at almost 2 years post op. it definitely helps to know that i'm not alone. here's to some good luck and moving scales for all of us. ~amanda

I haven't tried a program like that post surgery but I have been eating Lean Cuisine meals for lunch. They are the best I've found including the Weigh****cher Smart Ones and Healthy Choice. LC actually tastes like real food. Best part - no dishes to clean up afterwards!! ha-ha-ha Best of luck to you, keep us posted. Jessica

How did your appt go with jenny craig. I know that having surgery gives us a better opportunity to weight loss so I wish you much success. I would also like to say for me to loose the weight even after almost 2 yrs out I only added protien and water and lost everytime. I stopped eating sweets and went to the basics. I would stock my cubbords with beef jerkey and water. I know beef jerkey had alot of sodium in it so the water would flush that out but I got the protien from it none the less. I am not a meat eater so this helped out alot. I would snack on this instead of my crackers and stuff I used to snack on with alot of carbs. This is a lifetime journey I know and wish you much sucees.. NAT
