Hi All. It's been a very long time since I have been on the board. My life has changed in so many ways and not just the weight loss. I lost my sweet son Zachary in a car accident in September. He was just 26. It has been a devastating blow to all he knew and loved. I truly believe I would not have made it through this if I had not lost the weight. My daughter Allison who is almost 8 went through several months of being afraid to sleep alone, but through counseling and unconditional love she has moved past it. To date I have lost 145 pounds. I still want to lose another 20 and will do it but it is taking lots more time now. Everyone I know says I look perfect the way I am, but they are either biased towards me or just kind people. I'd like to thank the people on this board because even though I don't post often, I read the posts and they help me a lot. I'm proud of all that we have accomplished as a group. I thank God for the opportunity to have this surgery and finally feel so much better about myself. I shop almost exclusively at Goodwill and have the cutest wardrobe! I am a total shoe and clothes HOG! I still have a blast trying on things that were too tight to find out that they are now too big!! I'm going to have one whopping yard sale next summer!! Anywho....just thought I would update everyone on me if anyone remembers me!! Take care and God Bless!

Laura, Sorry to hear about your son. I know that it's very hard to lose someone you love, I lost both parents to cancer in 1998 (Mom in July and Dad in Sept.) I can't imagine losing a child--you're one tough lady! My thoughts and prayers are with both you and your family. Glad to hear that you've been so successful in your WL. I weighed 328 when I started 5/05 and am down to 190 (been stuck for 2 months). I'm scheduled for my TT in January and the Doc estimates 10-12lb skin removal, so I'l like to lose another 10 before surgery. Like you I'm a Goodwill shopper. I get such great deals there that I can't bring myself to shop anywhere else. I am also a clothes HOG--fun isn't it! I'm also not a frequent poster, however I do read the posts often., and do remember you. This board has pretty much slowed to almost nothing. You might want to try the WLS Grads Messageboard., I see quite a few familiar names from this board over there. It's really a great group. Take care and God Bless you and your family! thx g

Hey Laura, I certainly do remember you. I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I have a 17 year old son and cringe everytime he leaves the house in his truck. I can only imagine how tough times are for you and your family right now. May God be with you, your daughter, and the rest of your family and loved ones during this trying time. I too have some pounds that are just hanging on and don't seem to wanna let go. Those final 20 are a pain. Good luck getting those off and have a blessed holiday season. Christie

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have one child a son aged 23 and I don't know what I would do if he was gone. I pray that you will find peace and that you will see him again in Heaven.
