In my search for more protein, I stumbled upon this new
item in the store: PayDayPro. I am absolutely crazy about
them! However, here are the facts: 15 grams of protein,
240 calories, 19 total carb, sugars 13 gr.
I have a difficult time getting protein in because I do not
eat eggs or regular dairy due to intestinal problems.
I do drink 1 Carb Countdown yogurt shake in the am which
is 100 calories and 13 grams of protein.
Can anyone tell me whether one or two of the PayDayPro
bars per day would be a major problem-- are they too high in
calories and carbs? My lunch and super consist of usually
5 shrimp or 3-4 oz of meat and vegetables.
Thanks!
Tootsie
My general rule of thumb is about 110-120 max for 10 g of protein. The sugar is a bit high as are the carbs. You can do better with other products. I mean with the yogurt shake you describe you can double the protein for about the same calories.
Remember the kind of protein is very important too. You should be going for high quality protein like whey protein isolate.
If you really can't get in any other better protein I suppose the PayDayPro is better than nothing. But, I would look for something better. I would not have more than one bar a day.
Hi Tootsie,
I have not tried the PayDayPro bar,it has to much sugar for me.
I have tried the new "South Beach Diet" Meal Replacement Bar. Made by "Kraft foods" I really like the chocolate peanut butter ones. They are soooo good!
Here's whats in them:
210 calories,19grams protein,7g fat,o trans fat,1g sugar 17g sugar alcohol,75mg potassium,6 net carbs,and 23 vitamins and Minerals.
I got this bar at Walmart.

Here's what I think is a good alternative:
Power Crunch - 175 calories, 8 grams of fat, 8 grams total carb, 4 grams of sugar, 14 grams of protein! And they're pretty yummy
I also like this protein pudding (vanilla... chocolate didn't do it for me) that I found in http://www.bariatriceating.com - 20 grams of protein. Not too shabby.
