Please help me out
OK heres the thing:-l ,Ive not been going to support meetings and really havent been around many bariactric people so I basically eat like any normal person would. athough I know I'm not and that is where the problem lies. I have lost all of my instruction on how to be a bariatric patient and I need some help. I do have an appt for Fri but I am desperate for help.I have no dumping or any other problems that most of us have i can eat whatever whenever. I have lost a little over a hundred pounds and I know I still have time to lose more. I only want to lose 50 more #'s but I want to be able to keep it off so please be blunt but also informative. Thank you
Just start from basics...try having a liquid diet for a few days, then go to a soft diet (scrambled eggs, tuna salad, etc).
From now on, measure your food. Dense foods like steak or chicken make sure you eat 4 oz or less per meal. Eat protein then vegie and if room, have a fruit. Exercise 30 minutes a day. Drink lots of water. You can do it! Remember how it was the first few months? Stop eating carbs and sugar, and you can get back on track.

Tricia is right... go back to basics.
Don't drink with meals.
Don't drink soda, or other beverages, like coffee, that trigger eating.
Don't drink for 30 minutes before and 60 minutes after a meal.
Don't snack/graze on junk food or candy.
Do exercise everyday. Even if it's just a short walk.
Do drink plenty of water.
Do take your vitamins.
Do get in your protein. Use a protein shake to supplement.
Do eat a protein based meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Make a schedule for each day and follow it.
Make your Post-op life a priority.
Make small changes - they add up over time.
Keep a log of what you eat all day.
Keep yourself accountable.
Keep your goals in focus.
You sound just like me!!! I didnt have any support groups other than here, and my friends. Lost 115lbs, and still had at least 50 more to go. I can eat anything and dont dump. It will be interesting to see what everyone replies. I sure will need it after the baby is born so I can get back on track.- Melissa
