Hello Everyone!
We got back yesterday from a 7 day cruise with stops in Progresso, Cozumel and Belize. It was awesome. We celebrated three things: last summer I had just had my gastric bypass, we had our 20th wedding anniversary and I turned 40. We opted to wait until this summer to really celebrate and booked a cruise. The food was awesome. It was really fun dressing up for dinner, I snorkeled in Belize with the stingrays. I felt confident and pretty. OK except for the skin on my arms and thighs, I felt pretty but I didn't let it stop me from doing the things I wanted to do. (It was the cruise though that has been in the news with the woman overboard. That was so sad and everyone on board was so concerned and understanding when we turned around to return to the area where we were when she was last seen. My heart goes out to her family in this difficult and confusing time.)
I had my 13 month anniversary on board. I celebrated with a couple bites of Key Lime pie. Yum! I haven't gotten on the scale and will probably wait a few days to see if I did any damage but feel like I ate no more than usual, just a bit of everything offered.
Have a great day,
Melissa
Hi Julie
The cruise was awesome. I highly recommend taking one. I'm having a tough time getting back to the real world!
How are you feeling? Hope your recovery is continuing to go well. I think next year I'll skip the cruise and opt for plastic surgery. I can hide the tummy pretty well. It's the thighs that are bothering me most. They are awful.
Have a great day.

Thanks for your reply. We did a lot of vegging (is that a word?!) out on the cruise. My husband and I both read a lot and we found a great spot on the back of the ship and spent a lot of time reading, getting some sun and relaxing. I needed some down time as June was crazy for me. I left on June 6 to go to camp with the junior high kids from our church. We were at Baylor University for 5 days. We got home on June 10 at 4:00pm and 8 hours later I got on another bus at midnight to go to Panama City, Florida with the high schoolers from our church for their camp. We got home early Thursday morning the 17th. We left on the 19th for the cruise. I spent those two days at home doing laundry and getting our boys situated to be home alone for the week. They're 17 and 16 years old but still need Mom to take care of them (or so I like to think). Our 13 year old daughter went to stay with my sister so she was taken care of. Anyway, the down time was much needed. Time to get back to the real world.

Hi Tricia
We did have a wonderful time. I am glad to be home to be with my family but need someone to make my bed and cook 4 course meals and serve them to me. I keep thinking, "What's wrong with this picture?"
Congrats, by the way on your normal BMI! I'm right behind you. I actually lost weight on the cruise if you can believe it. Two whole pounds. My period just started too so it may be one or two pounds more! I wasn't going to get on the scale until it was over but couldn't stop myself this morning. For my height, 5'2'', I need to weigh 136 to be in the normal range. I'm at 138. Three more pounds and I will have lost half my body weight. Amazing.
Have a great day.

WOW!!! I can't believe you lost weight on the cruise. I would have gained, with all that good food. CONGRATS!! you did something right! I know, I am also 5'2, so I was so excited when I finally was normal. You'll be there in no time, seems like by next week, after your period is over. Keep it up! That's exciting
