Clothes shopping - where?
Hello my fellow May '04 post-ops!
I could use some - I am getting really close to those "normal" sizes for clothing. (Never was a fan of that term. ) I am down to the 14/16 tops, so soon I'll have to say goodbye to Avenue & Lane Bryant. It's a weird feeling, because I've been wearing plus sized clothing since before high school.
I have started doing some shopping at Wal-Mart & Target, but I'm wondering where else others are shopping for clothes? (I went into Chico's for the first time on Memorial Day, and while those clothes are fabulous, I'd be broke in a heartbeat!)
I have a couple of trips next month, and I want to get a couple of nice outfits without breaking the bank, especially since, God willing, I will still be losing weight for a few more months.
Thanks in advance for the help, and hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Angie. Let me start by saying congratulations on your weight loss.
I shop a lot at TJ Maxx and Marshalls and do very well there. Do they have those where you are? I have done very well there throughout my whole WLS journey. I find them to be resonably priced and the more I lose the better I can do in the clearance section.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trips.

HI Angie..,,
Isn't it fun!!! Do you have New York & Company in your area? They have really cute clothes, from 0-18, petites, reg & talls. Prices are really good, but if you signup on line they always email you 30% off coupons & others, plus they always have a clearance section.
I bought my first pair of WHITE capris there last year, just at this time. Was THRILLED to no end because they were a 16..... this spring bought the same pair capris again..... only in a size 6!!! who'd have ever thought.
Wishing you contiued success & lots of shopping fun!

Congrats Angie, you are doing so well!!!
What I did was this, I was losing weight too rapidly to keep clothes shopping, it does get very expensive. So I bought clothes from the clearance stuff at Kohls and Walmart, and mostly shopped at thrift stores for many months. Still do. I went to the one place by my house, and was getting clothes for like $1-5.00, depending what it was. It helped me out alot by not spending as much money.
Some times I wore clothes for 2 months, and sometimes they fit ok for about 2 weeks and then were falling off again. It isn't worth spending money, more than you have to at least.

I've recently discovered Christopher and Banks..
I've gotten really cute stuff for 4.99, capris for 16.99...
I am also a big salvation Army, goodwill shopper.. I'm at my goal weight so I feel ok with splerging a little bit now but I still don't do it very often!!
Have fun shopping!!!
