So grateful...
Haven't been on the site much, just had so much going on. But I had to make sure I returned for my anniversary.
This time last year, I was going under the knife, after a long fight with the insurance company, a sudden turn-around from denial to approval, and there I was, scared as hell.
And a year later, I can say it was all worth it. It's still not a cakewalk, but it's amazing what I've been able to change and/or give up for the sake of my health.
I still get a little hot under the collar when I hear how surgery is the "easy way out".
Those people have no idea how much physical, mental, & emotional anguish we've had to go through in life, and that doesn't necessarily change once surgery is done. It's a long, hard road, and I applaud any of us who've had the courage to go through it.
I say all this to say - I've made it through a year. YEA ME!
Congrats to all you May post-ops, I hope this anniversary month finds you in good physical and mental health!
