Diet pills?
Hey yall, I was just wondering if anyone else's dr. told them you may have to take diet pills off and on now and then to stay on track with your weight loss. Mine did and I was thinking about getting some to kick the weight loss back in. I've lost 145 so far but I am still 35 to 40 pounds away from my goal. I'm starting to feel discouraged with the slow loss lately. God Bless yall. Debra
No my doctor has never said anything like that to me. I am a bit shocked that one would say that. In a couple of support groups some patients have talked about this. Basically doing some radical things to make goal (either their personal goal or the one established with doctor). Some had horror stories. Others had no problems at all. None of them considered it a healthy way to make goal.
I look at it this way - if pills or fads worked would I have needed WLS to begin with? We are all nearly a year out, the honeymoon time with our new tools is over or soon will be. In some ways we have to gut out the last pounds just like people who don't have WLS. We can do it smart, safe and healthy (which will take longer) or we can use other means to get to goal.
It's our choice.
Sorry sweetie, I have never heard of this. As far as for me, pills never worked before surgery, so I wouldnt even try them now. You had your surgery a day after me, and I am seeing alot of may babies are slowing down to a crawl, or looks like they havent lost anything in months. This is normal, and I beleive if you up your protein, water, and exercise, it will eventually come off. It isnt going to take a while and some hard work hun but it will come. We still have a good 6 months of losing ahead of us. I know I will not be losing anything in that time due to the baby, and I can only hope that I bust my butt enough afterwards to lose some more. I am still 40-45lbs away from my goal. Keep up the good work sweetie, and if you can stay away from the pills. It is your choice. - Melissa
