Reposting from the main board... Hey all, Okay, I've read through the library on this and didn't find much. For the last 24 hours I've had a strong dull pain in my left side, a couple of inches down from my ribs about about 4in left of my bellybutton. It feels like someone punched me, hard, in the side of my gut. I did several things yesterday that may (or may not) have led to several different issues. First, I took a fall while walking, tripping over a wire and doing a belly flop into the gravel (it was lovely, lol) I jumped right back up and brushed myself off and seemed fine. Secondly, I was given a new pair of jeans that fit, but just barely, and wore them all day yesterday. They cut in pretty tight as I sat at my desk all day. Finally, I was stupid and kinda went wild at a wedding rehearsal dinner last night, several slices of bread and some pasta (no sweets or grease though). The pain was a dull ache from noon on and by the time I went to bed my stomach was bloated and it was painful to roll over, like a has a belly full of gas. Hurts in that spot when I cough. No sleep for me. Felt a little btter this morning but comes back each time I eat. Seems like my options are...nothing, ulcer, pulled muscle, staple line disruption, or gas. Anyone have any insights on this, or what I might do about it? I have a busy weekend and will drop everything for a trip to the doc if I really have to, but would rather not. Perry , It sounds like to me a combo of things . You could have pulled something in your incision area . I did this at the gym and the pain sounds the same . And as to the bread .. If I even remotely try bread I swell up like a hot air balloon .So I stay away from it . Rest tonight and see how you feel tommorow . If no better .. get to the doc . Take care , Natalie

I am sure it is a little of everything but my vote is also for the bread and or pasta. When I eat bread I have such an ache in the same area. I also had this pain when I ate steak the other day. When in doubt call the doc for advise though. I hope you are feeling better soon....HUGS.. Julie S. 265/155/135
