Weighing yourself?
Its just a little over 10 months for me and I've been at goal for about 6 weeks. I see a nutrionist and she wants me to wait a month in between weighing myself. I see her about once a month and the only weighing would be at her office or when I see another doctor. Its been three weeks now and I'm convinced thats the lousiest idea on the planet. I'm going nuts convincing myself that I'm getting fat again. The nutrionist has generally guided me in very comfortable ways. I'm curious, how often and under what cir****tances does everyone weigh themselves?

I used to only weigh myself at two week intervals. It seemed like a happy median between the once a month camp and the daily camp thoughts on the subject. But now that I'm 10 months out, I usually weigh myself once a week now. Mostly because smaller amounts seems to be "bigger" now. It makes thing easy on one hand because Sunday I weight myself like clock work. But it's hard when I might only lose a pound or two instead of the 5 or so earlier on. Or worse yet no loss or even a slight gain. Which can happen depending on the water weight, etc.
My advice do what's best for you and find a time frame that works for you. Your nutritionist is giving you guidance not laws to follow. Just be careful and don't get into weighing yourself all the time because that will drive you nuts too.
Hi Sara,
I don't know about you, but if I didn't weigh myself every day I could gain 5 pounds (or more) without realizing it. At this point in my life I don't know if I'll ever stop needing the scale just as a meter to help me watch myself.
Do what feels right for you!

PS Congratulations -- you look great!
I'm with Donna. I weigh almost every day. I'm terrified I will gain and not realize it. I don't seem to have any concept of what my body is doing right now. I don't get nuts about not losing. I'm pretty stuck right now but not stressing out over it. If I could lose another 15 I'd be really happy. But if not, I'm happy here. I can walk into any store and buy clothes that fit. I look good and generally feel good. That's what counts, not the cursed number on the scale!
I understand your feelings!! But, sometimes we get really discouraged when we don't see that weight falling off!! I would say, do the every two weeks weight. That is a happy medium...and you should feel good about that. Talk to you nutritionist...she will understand...maybe she has a good reason too!!
Good luck!!

Sara here are my thoughts :
I had weight loss surgery to loose weight .. I am going to weigh everyday If I want . I can handle the numbers .. and if they are down .. great .. If not great .. Some get a little upset at the scale .. but for me it helps me to know where I am .
I weigh every morning same time 4 am .. If I weigh in the evenings I am heavier due to water weight... I could not imagine having to wait for my doc to weigh me ..
Hugs ,
