Okay, I guess I'm confused...

So did your doctor instruct you to eat "ANYTHING" and find out if it makes you sick? Is so, I apologize, I've never heard of a baratric surgeon giving such advice.
Did your doctor tell you to only do half of the excerise he instructed? If so, again I apologize. You have a strange surgeon.
OF COURSE we assumed you wern't doing as you were instructed, because you TOLD us you were not! LOL!

If what you want is someone to pat your hand and say "There, there" regardless of what you say or do, then I think you've come to the wrong place, as you're looking for enabling, not support.
I suspect that you have a long history of "mean people insulting you."
My suggestion would be to stop asking for advice is you are really only looking for validation of you actions.
Eat what you doctor tell you.
Excersize as your doctor advises you.
THEN complain about not losing weight. The surgery ain't gonna do all the work for you.
Sadly I doubt any of this was useful, or could be, but maybe someone else will get something out of it.

I read all of the responces here .. and all are great .. you gotta understand that if you ask for help here .. ya going to get it .. So with that I am going to breakdown your post . Take it one by one..
Okay, first of all, I can eat ANYTHING. In never ever get sick... The only thing I have problems with is ice cream. I had that problem before surgery.
*** If you are eating icecream .. start here .. get rid of the stuff . I do not care if it is low carb .. FF SF .. get it outa your house now . If you are not loosing - read the contents of what you are eating ... ice cream is loaded with carbs.. yea I know natural carbs but you are not efficeintly exersising ( which I will get to later ) so the carbs are not being used up .
As to I CAN EAT ANYTHING .. well there ya go .. You can not just eat anything with WLS .. you may need to go back to basics .. or see a nutricionist .. DO you really want to waist this tool ? Protein, Protein , Protein .. this is your key to jump starting the weight loss .. How much are you getting in .. My regime is atleast 80 grams a day .. and it worked .. ****************
Secondly, I am at a five month plateau! I have lost no more than 10 pounds in five months. I have a sneaking suspicion that I might have stretched my pouch opening (the outgoing one). I take my vitamins probably two or three at a time.
**** Stretched your pouch .. doubt it .. you really gotta be pouring in the food or drinking while eating .. so throw that out the window .Sweety you are not eating the right things .. a 5 month platuea is a sure sign .. it is time to really be honest with yourself .. For years we have all denied our eating habits .. how the heck do you think we became obese anyway . Bad food choices .. Get back to basics and use the tool ! ****
All my bloodwork is normal and I feel fine, but I'm worried I won't lose anymore.

My third question is how much exercise are we supposed to be doing a day? My surgeon says an hour, but I'm lucky to put in thirty minutes of high stress walking on the treadmill. My schedule is very hectic.
*** YA GOTTA MOVE TO LOOSE .. If you do not and are eating junk well .. there ya go .. make time for exersise .. I hate it .. but I do it .. it is good for me and with out it I would probably still be trying to get to goal.. All of this is part of the plan .. You are what is important and if you want to get to goal and keep the weight coming off .. walk that extra 30 min no matter WHAT . ******

**** ALL OF THE ABOVE .. **** Just take the information .. go see your surgeon again .. get to a support group .. PROTEIN - PROTEIN - PROTIEN .. Exersise - WATER - WATER- WATER .. It is a simple plan .. you have the tool now use it .. Clean all the junk .. get rid of the bread. pasta .. and just do it .. and most of all be honest with yourself .. Stay positive and get to movin .. We are not trying to be hard here .. but there is a lot to be said about a 5 month platuau .. I hope I have not offended .. I just want to help .

I have exactly the same problem you do.
Please read all of this before you get upset!! I may lose you right there!!
This May board is the most supportive I have read. If you ask for help, you will get it. It is not always easy to take, or hear!! And, you must realize that we are not critisizing when we offer our opinions. You also need to realize we all have been there...and we are trying to help you to get off that plataeu!!
I can eat anything also. And, making that comment tells everyone that I can and I do. I know I am not supposed to eat a candy bar or a donut. But, I reason to myself...well this is my snak. No, No, No. I am so bad.
I love to exercise on my gazelle. But, like you, my schedule is outrageous!! I am so tired when I get home. But, ya know...if I want to lay in bed and watch tv, instead of exercising...I do. That is my fault...and I have to change that!! (I am talking about me here...not you)
I can't wait till warmer weather...I love to walk...and I will start walking again.
Please remember we are here to help you...not to critisize you...even though you may think that it sounds that way. We are all in this together! It is easier to lose at the beginning...I started off at 270...and dropped those first 70 with not a problem!! Now it is...and it is mainly my fault. Actually, I will go further and say it is ALL my fault. I know I am eating what I should not be eating.
Thank you for posting...you have made me admit to everyone out there I am eating way too much...no matter how I rationalize it!! And, that is changing as of today!!

I'm still here.. I haven't posted because I've gotten a lot of negative feedback.
I've been trying what one of the posters suggested. I'm currently on all liquids and I'm going to continue that for about a week. I've upped my exercise just a bit to 45 minutes.
I'm resisting the urge to get on the scale, because I've become WAY to addicted to it So I'm not sure anything is actually working, but I'm hoping.
