Hey Melissa, I am also at 188 pounds. I am in a size 14 and am so happy. It is only a number. I am 5'5" and started at 307. It depends on your shape. Hey this is off subject but where in Kentucky do you live. I will be there the week before Easter to visit my brother. It will be my first time in Kentucky. He lives just outside Louisville. I am meeting another May post op in St. Louis. You can e-mail me your response. You are doing great, just like all you May 04 post-ops!!!!!!!!

I must say you are doing great!!!! As for the pant sizes, I don't get. I am 5'3" and weight 161, I wear a 16. I personally don't see how anyone that weights around what I weight wears a size 10 or 8 or less. They must be tall. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not calling anyone a lier, I myslef don't understand. I also still feel real fat because of the size I am wearing. That is just me though. I know I have come a long way but still I feel fat as a cow. Maybe it has to do with people getting a tt already. My doctor won't do a tt for another 8 months or so. Who knows. But trust me, you are not the biggest one on this board!! If you are then I am the pope!! I am not a small person, I am still big as a house. As I said, you are doing great and just keep up the good work. Toni

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone *****sponded!!! I am truly grateful to all of you for raising me out of this little funk I let myself get into. You are all right about everything. Everyone starts at a different weight, and we each have very unique shapes. I am 5' 3" and started at 329. I am now down to 207. Quite an accomplishment for 9 months!! I am so proud of each and every one of you and also very happy to be part of such a thoughtful and caring bunch of people. All of you take care and be happy!!

Laura please don't be put off by those size 6-8 posts. You have to realize that size means virtually nothing these days. The clothing manufacturers' sizes are all over the board . I am 5' 3" and 177 lbs and I still wear a size 18 in some pants, and a 14 in others! Jeans are different than non-stretch slacks. Women's sizes are different than straight sizes. You can shop in several stores and come out with several different sizes which may fit you. Even when I weighed 135 lbs, I was never a size 5 , never. In high school I weighed 115 lbs and I wore a 7-9. That was in the 1960's and I know they cut clothing a lot larger now. Believe me, if the clothing industry went back to the measurements they used in the 1960's and they all used the same standards, no stretchy fabrics etc. people would be wearing a lot larger sizes than they do now. It would be interesting to find a vintage clothing store and compare a size 8 from the 60's to a size 8 now in a standard dress. LOL Tootsie

Toni..... You made me chuckle at your post. I suppose the size 10 slam was directed at me...lol I know you are not calling anyone a liar..I didn't take it that way at all....I guess it really depends on what type of clothing you wear(style and brand) and your body shape. I have NO clue how I am 5'3 157.5lbs and wearing a size 10. I don't believe it myself at times. When I try on things I swear that the 'next' size 10 will in no way fit...but they all do. My body is pretty proportioned but with a little extra on the bottom half. I have no had a tummy tuck yet but I will in the next few months. I bet that one day you will wake up a few sizes smaller. I can tell you that I wear low rise jeans and if I wore the ones that fit all the way up to my waist....they have to be a size bigger because of my hernia. My hips are only 38in and my waist is 30in because of the hernia. I AM SURE you are by no means 'fat'...we have all come a long way and what is important is that we are ALL WAY more healthier then we were 10mo ago!! A size is 'JUST' a number and how we feel means way more. HUGS to you all......

Julie, No sweetie, I wasn't slamming anyone. It just bothers me some to read about people who weight close or the same as me and wear smaller clothes. I understand everyone's body is different. It just seems very strange that people can weight the same but one be 3 or 4 sizes smaller. That is all. I would never call anyone a lier, that would be wrong. I am not there to see what size they pick up. LOL I have a hernia as well, doctor says a small one. But he won't do anything about it for 8 more months. I am happy for everyone who does wear a much smaller size. I know I may never see those sizes for myself. I stopped losing about 4 months ago. That is not a good thing. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I wasn't slamming anyone. Best of luck to you and everyone else.
