Am I the only one in size 18's?
I am starting to feel like I must be the biggest one on this board! Everyone talks about being in 6's and 8's and 10's and I am still wearing 18's. I've lost 122 pounds and I think I am doing just fine, but after reading so many of your posts, I am feeling rather HUGE! Am I the only one who is still wearing such big sizes? I have an hourglass figure, always have, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Or did I just start out weighing more than most on here? I'm not complaining about the weight I have lost, I'm just feeling really inferior about where I am at now!! Someone please tell me I am doing okay!
HI!! This is my first response to this board. I hope this board is a little more friendly then the main board! :tounge: I was thinking the same thing as you reading all these size 8's and such!!!! I was scared stupid that I was not doing so well, Although I dont know that I will EVER see an 8 a 18 is waaaaaay better then 32!!!!!!!!
Best of luck! Your doing fine! (I hope) Since we are so much alike! So PLEASE SOMEONE REASURE HER!!!!!! LOL

Dear Tara, thank you so much! I feel better already! Maybe it's just that some of us who are still a little bigger aren't posting so much. I'm kind of honored that my post was the first one you responded to! I really like this board because everyone is really supportive. I don't post a lot, but I guess I was just having a big bummer moment! Thanks for cheering me up and making me appreciate how far I HAVE come! Cheers to you Tara, I hope to be in the 100's really soon right along with you! You are doing awesome!!
Sounds like you are doing FANTASTIC!!! 122 pounds! WOW! I started smaller than you, and you cannot compaire because everybody is different. I started at 247 lbs (give or take) and I was in a size 22-24 mostly 24's. I think I am hour glass shaped, so I see alot of people about my size that are in 8's but I am no where near it yet. I am currently 151 pounds and I wear size 12-14 depending. I am also 5'2 1/2 and that is something that a lot of people don't say. Height has alot to do with it too. I think you are doing GREAT, so just keep up the good work, and the sizes will shrink soon.
Tricia
Dear Tricia, thanks for the compliment-I really appreciate it. You're right, I shouldn't compare, but I always do. I am only 5'3" so that has some to do with it too. I started out wearing 28's and I'm really not complaining, although I know it sounds that way, so thanks again for cheering me up! You are doing GREAT!!! We all are and I need to remember that and stop trying to compare so much. Take care and God bless!!
Hi Laura,
Congrats on your amazing success. Please Please Don't feel inferior and try not to focus on the size issue, you have done great! We are all so different: heights, body shape, different starting weights, etc. so many things can account for the discrepancies in "size". We each have our own journey and will get where we need to be at the right time!
Wishing you continued success!

... Laura.... You are doing wonderful... (as you know)!! I started at 268lbs. I am 5'3" and currently around 160lbs. I just started getting into size 8's and 9's. What's funny is being able to get into those sizes, but still weighing 160 . I think it has to do with bone density (I'm very small frame) and loose skin. I've not really worked out, so not much muscle (which weighs more). Anyway.... you are doing FABULOUS and as long as you know and feel that... I wouldn't worry about the smaller clothes size as it will happen for you.... we all still have time to lose (just not as quickly as before).....
hugs,
Rhonda
Girl you are doing WONDERFUL!!! You have lost more then some of us but it depends on what your starting weight was. I started at 265 and I am now down to 157.5 so I have only lost 107.5lbs.(5'3) I do wear a size 10 but that is in no way more of an ackomplishment(sp) then you being down to a size 18. Just think of how different you feel and look from how you felt and looked 1yr ago!! Keep up the great work and you will reach your goals before you know it. Take care...HUGS..

Ok I was just reading the replies, and now I see it is just a number, lol. Two replies are 5'3 one at 160lbs the other at 158 or something like that. The 160 just got into size 6 and the 158 is in size 10. NOw for my reply to you, lol. I feel the same way!!! I was wearin 26 and now I am an 18!! Yes I know I have done good, and I am healthier but I hate these fat lady clothes plus sizes yuck!! I was a size 18 forever when I was pregnant 6 years ago then I ballooned to a whopping 298lbs! I am now at 188lbs! But these size 18's are getting to me worse than they should. Is there a body shape known as the orange shape, hahahaha? I am not sure what shape my body is seeing as I havent seen the real shape in ions. I see all these sizes runing from 6-10 from all these may babies and I wonder what am I doing wrong? Seeing a 4 size difference in two people the same height and about the same weight, now I can look at it more like Im only 8 sizes away. I may never get ynder a size 10 or even close, but when I get to a decent average weight weather it be my goal weight or not, I will be satisfied at what ever size clothes I am in. I am still obese at 188lbs so all I can do is keep working with my tool and lose more and watch the 18's go bye bye! I know it can really get your emotions going, actually I was depresses at being size 18 still. If we all stick together we can acheive anything. So no you are not the only one, and when it gets you down just think about the size difference in similar people and know it is just a clothing number. If I make it to my goal of 130lbs and I am still in size 18, then I will say well Im not fat anymore I just wear a size 18 for some reason- Melissa
