Hi everyone, Needing some devine guidance. 3/13 I'll be 10 months out. I made goal by 8 months and have really worked at maintaining. Dropped a few more lbs and was maintaining at about 11 lbs UNDER goal and stayed there for past 4-5 weeks. This past week I have started Dance Classes for exercise and having a ball. What I didn't take into account was that I needed to compenstate with EXTRA CALORIES. So, I ended up dropping another 4 lbs this week. So, now 15 lbs under goal. Never thought I'd complain about something like this but, this is really too thin for me (I'm 6'). I need some suggestions for Higher Calorie, Healthy snacks or meal options to help up my Calorie Intake. I still do not have much of an appeitite, so I schedule my meals & snacks to be sure I don't skip a meal. I already feel like I eat all day long, so need to UP the calories, not just add more snacks. Any of your Brilliant suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Pam RNY 5/13/04 268/168/153

Hi Pam, Does your surgeons office have a nutricianist? If so find out what they recommend. If not maybe your plan will send you to a nutricianist to get som good advise and then you have to share it with us. -Gerriann 30 pounds from goal!

HI Geriann, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have contacted by Drs office a while back when first went below goal & it worked....while not exercising. So I guess a little "force feeding" will be required!. Congrats of your success! Wishing you continued success. Pam

Hi Nat, Thanks for replying. You are doing so great, I've watched your postings for quite some time and you are really inspirational. Congrats on your success. Those are the things I have been adding.... even pasta, but only at a meal & just a very small amt. Like you problem is the total Calorie intake for the day because I can only eat small amounts at each "feeding" so in trying to UP it for the day, I feel like a grazing "calf".....as opposed to being a grazing "cow" like the old days! It's a catch22 situation, but I know I'll get the hang of it. Have a wonderful week, Pam

Protein gives you the highest healthy calories for the buck. In addition they will help build muscle. I would examine protein charts and start selecting the proteins with the highest calories. Add cheese to scrambled eggs, opt for whole milk dairy. Those would be my choices. Su Ellia May 5, 2004 140 lb looser so far.

Hi Su, Thanks for responding. Yes, I always have used Protein as my first source, biggest problem is that the Quantity I can eat is so small that I still don't get alot of calories unless supplementing all day long. It's kinda of a catch22 situation. Thanks! Pam

Pam, congrats on your loss. A good source of protein and good fat would be a handful of nuts. Those little babies pack quite a few calories for a handful. Also, you could drink some exta calories. Perhaps a protein shake that has some carbs in it. Peanut butter has a whopping 190 calories for only 2 TBSP. That wouldn't take up alot of room in the pouch. Best wishes to maintain. I'm holding steady at 151, but I'm 5'6" and I'de like to see 140,so for now I will avoid the above pointers for you. Mngal 254/151/? goal being determined today at my underwater weighing
