Hi everyone! I have just gotten home from the longest week of my life! My daughter, Allison, got sick last Tuesday night. I kept her home Wednesday because she had such a high fever. She kept throwing up, couldn't even keep water down. By Friday (which was her Valentine's Day party at school) her dad and I took her to the walk-in clinic. We had been treating her for the flu because it has been going around and found out that she had a severe kidney infection. She was admitted to the hospital Friday night and just got out today. That poor child (7 years old) was so brave and endured so much. During that time she had a kidney ultrasound and also a cat scan of her kidneys. We can't figure out how she picked up the infection, but she will have to be on antibiotics for almost a month. Thanks to God and all of our caring friends who sent their best wishes, she is home and on the road to a full recovery. Needless to say, during that time I didn't get anywhere NEAR my protein or water, but now that she is home I can get back to reality. Sorry to be rambling on here, but I am just so thankful that she is home and healthy, I just can't tell you. I feel so much more at home here than on my regular Michigan board and I just wanted to let all of my May sisters and brothers know what I've been through the past week. Everybody take care and I'll get my butt in gear with my program!! Thanks for "listening"!!

Hey Laura, What a week you've had! I'm glad your daughter is better and that you've come through this stressful time OK. Don't forget to take care of you, now! It's not the birthdays that make us old, you know .... it's the darn kids ;) Best, Donna
