I am new to this section ...
I am new to this section of the boards. Nice to meet y'all! I have been lurking, but occassionally post on the Alabama boards. Thought I would hang out over here too! You all totally inspire me and keep me in check daily!
I need to know from y'all if we can take anything for muscle/pain or arthritis. Trying to get rid of some pain I am having and attempting to rule out every possibility. Need to take Naprosyn for a couple of weeks twice a day. Anyone done this at all? Or any other anti inflammatory? I really need to see if this helps my pain, not to stay on it forever, but to make sure it is musculoskeletal pain I am experiencing! Thanks guys! I always know where to turn when I need help!
Thought maye if I crushed the pills and took with ice cream it would reduce the chance of ulceration. Or is there another NSAID that is safer and gentler on our pouch?
Also, anyone else experiencing pain under their left rib cage? Normal EGD (scope), normal CT scan. Pain goes from my rib around my side up into my shoulder blade. Trying to rule everything out. Exploratory surgery has been offered, I am not ready for that at all. 4 major surgeries in 5 years is enough for me! Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Stacey,
Welcome to the May Board. Congratulations on your weight loss. Do you still have a Gallbladder? Sounds like what mine was doing prior to getting it removed a few years ago. Where the pain is sounds like that could be something to look at. Other than that I have no idea. Call your surgeon about the NASID and they will best tell you what to do.
Hope to learn more about you here!

Stacey ,
Welcome to what we here like to call .. US MAY BABIES ... .. I find more support here than anywhere .. I love this group ..
As to NSAIDS I would get with your WLS to see if you can take them . As for me I am sure I would get an ulcer ...
Like Gerianne said you may have a bad gallbladder . But it is best to get with the doc ..
Again ..Welcome and I hope you get relief for your pain soon .
Huggles,
Natalie
Hey Tricia!
I have talked with my WLS and he basically recommended exploratory surgery without ruling anything else out. I felt uncomfortable with being cut open on something I don't feel I have fully tried to resolve more conservatively. So here I am, playing Sherlock Holmes to fix myself!
Glad to be here and thanks for your sweet support!

Stacey
Welcome Stacey!
I too last month was having these problems with arthritis. I was told by a very wonderful friend to take glucosamine. to give it 2 weeks to get in my system and it should feel better. in between all that i was taking Tylenol arthritis's which for me helped so much! Now I am feeling great. I can't help out on the other problems but I sure hope you find some ease in your pain.
Take care Lisa
