Finally losing again!

Hi May Babies, I'm so thrilled that I've finally started losing again. I'm down to 157.5lb as of this morning. That's a total loss of 87lb and I'm thrilled with it. I'm really beginning to rethink my goal weight though. I can wear small and medium tops now. If I lose another 20lb I'm afraid I'm going to look terrible on top...just too thin. I think I'm going to shoot for 145 and then re-evaluate at that time. I honestly think they'll take off at least 5lb on my legs if I have lipo and thigh lift so that'll put me at around 140. Look at my latest pics and give me your opinion about losing another 20. Thanks for all your support. It's so wonderful to watch us all shrink. I really wish we could have a May get together for all us May folks. Christie

Christie- Congrats on getting the scale moving again!! You look just perfect how you are now, from looking at the pics! In my surgeon's packet, it says that patients can expect to lose 40% of their pre-op weight (not excess weight, the total weight) and then subsequently usually regain about 10%. By letting yourself get "too thin", you will give yourself a little bounce room. You really look phenomenal! Hugs, Susan

Hi Susan, Thanks for the compliments. Thanks for giving me another view of the weight loss and gain too. This is great for helping my argument with my husband. Not that we really argue about this. But, he does want me to keep some of my curves. If I lost the 40% that would put me at 147lbs. That's exactly where he'd like for me to be. I however, would like to lose down to 140 or just under so I wouldn't feel so horrible if I fluctuate a few pounds from time to time. I'd really like to remain under 145 for life. Thanks again, Christie

Hey Nat, Thanks so much. The great thing is that I feel as good as I look, or better. I'm glad to hear you are doing so wonderful. I hope it continues for you. Maybe we'll all get to meet eventually. Christie

Hi Christie, Congrats on your moving scale; mine is still stuck but I think I lost an inch (or maybe two) in the last month. Funny thing is though that, unlike my former pear-shape I seem to be more of an upside-down-pear these days .... skirts and pants fitting loosely while same-size tops and jackets are still snug. I think you look gorgeous just the way you are. At this point maybe we should stop focusing so much on what our old goals were in pounds -- after all, we never really knew what would be "normal" for our individual bodies, right? As long as I end up with a non-overweight BMI I really don't care what the scale says anymore. But I will confess that I want to wear the same size as my skinny-all-her-life sister .... and that's only one size away from me now. Isn't it amazing how far we've all come! Best, Donna 243/163/134 (?)

Hey Donna, Thank you for the kind words. I think you are correct to some degree that we need to stop focussing on that scale goal. I have tried my best not to let what the scale says bother me anyway. I really don't care if it moves much anyway. I can see the difference in my body and am pretty pleased with the state it's in. Let's not talk about my legs though. I do, however, remember what size did feel normal to me for many years. I was about 140-150lb for most of my adult life before I started gaining in my 30's. I wouldn't mind that again I suppose. Thanks again and I hope your scales move soon. Christie 244.5/157/138

Christie you look wonderful. I was reading your profile about what your husband was saying about "some meat on the bones", my husband is the same way. He feels that I am too thin, but he has never seem me this small (we have been married almost 18 years), but I have a small frame, and I was carrying too much weight, althought it was not a lot compared to some people that have had the surgery. My surgeon thought I was losing too fast also, but he is now happy that I had not lost anything since October. But I have lost inches. I am now in size 4-6s, from a size 16-18. I feel great too, and that is what really matters. The best to you on your journey. Hettie RNY/Lap 212/132/125 5' 2"

Hey Hettie, Thanks for your comments and for responding. I think our husband really represent most men. I don't think men are too thrilled with really bony women. I see you were a lightweight also. That always cracks me up to hear that. Cause there was nothing light about me at 244.5lb. I think I would love to be in 6's when this is all said and done. I'm 5'6" so anything below a 6 would be too small for me. I am curvy and would like to remain so. I think 135-140 would be size 6's and 8's and that'd be great. Good luck to you on this journey also. Thanks again, Christie 244.5/157/138
