So I was wondering what diets your surgeons have recommended once you reach your goal weight. My surgeon is kind of vague and also wants me to eat more to maintain where I am.

Hi Less... I have reached goal, and honestly, my surg/nutris has not put me on any kind of diet..... At their suggestion, I am working on increasing my food intake by adding a couple of HEALTHY snacks in order to add back some healthy calories. So generally I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, generally no afternoon snack (too busy); dinner & an evening snack. I was worried that I was getting too thin, but they reassured me that I was "perfect" for my height & frame...wasn't that an amazing thing to hear. It is hard to get the extra food in and I am very careful of the type of snacks, most importantly, I schedule or plan them, so I don't get into the habit of just grazing all day and end up gaining weight. Try not to think of yourself on a *diet*.... just continue to eat healthy. Wishing you the best of luck, Pam RNY 5/13/04 268/158 10 lbs under goal

Well, my Dr said at around 8 months out no more than 800-1000 calories a day. When we reach our goal we should take in no more than 1200 a day to maintain. All Drs are different. Good luck! Brenda 268/146/???
