I am shocked to say that my insurance (Tricare) just approved my tummy tuck/hernia repair . I am floored!! It only took them a week to give us an answer. I am told I could have it as soon as Feb 21st but I think I will wait a bit longer. The approval is good until Aug 13th so maybe I will wait for a couple more months to see if I lose a bit more. I am on cloud nine but SO very shocked!! Julie S. 265/162/130

Congratulations, Julie!!! What great news! I have bcbs federal and can only pray that when my time comes for ps they'll be willing to cover it. Otherwise i'll be SOL. You look fantastic! Very pretty lady! God bless! Melanie

Tricare is generally pretty good about that stuff. I have Champva which is very very much like Tricare and they didn't even ask for preapproval for my operation (darn doctor taking his time setting the date though). I am so excited for you! Maybe we'll have the surgery close together and can have an online celebration!

Congratulations Julie, I know you must be thrilled. I'm just curious why they approved you so easily. Did they require a certain amount of skin removed or rashes, etc? I would love to have some plastics, but am thinking I won't qualify. We had a similar start weight so I might can get approved. There is hope! Woohooo. Let us know when you get your date set. You'll have to do before and afters to share with us. Christie

Julie this is great. What kind of doccumentation did you have to have to get approved? I want to wait until the fall. My surgery was May 2004 and i have lost 104 lbs. I was laid up last year with open wound and home health and missed swimming the whole summer. This year i want a tan for the first time in my life.(husband is *****y about this- you know the ultra violet thing). But.... I want a tummy flat enough to bounce a quarter off of, HaHa! Good Luck and give me the low down. Use to nurse, worked with plastics in late 80's, if memory serves me tummy tuck is really something, but people say compared to gastric surgery this is a piece of cake. Wonder what kind of cake? Best wishes!! Sabrina
