It's late but I'm here. It's been 8 months today (5/24) since my surgery. I'm down 100 pounds exactly. Tonight I bought my first pair of low rise jeans. I'm so used to hiding in clothes that are too big that it is hard to buy things that actually fit. I got a couple of shirts too that actually show my emerging figure. Even my teenage boys thought I looked great. I'd still like to lose another 40 pounds but feel great about how I've done so far. Congratulations to everyone on all their success. Melissa

I couldn't log on for a while---its like the board disappeared. I'm down from a size 24 to size 5 hip hugger jeans. Friday I leave on a cruise---a real normal relaxing vacation where no one has to know about the surgery--I can pass for a skinny, small appetite person. I just have to remember to take my vitamins, listen to my body and not eat the bad stuff. My stomach won't let me overeat and chewing everything 10 times makes it hard to anyway. Welcome back everyone to the board.

Allison , You have done great .. and yes I was walking from day one .. slow but I walked ... My NP said my matabolism took off and mimicked the weight loss of most men that have the surgery .. Yea for me I guess . I can tell you that by not having any bread or sugar has helped to .. You will get there ... just remember that Rome was not built in a day and your window of opportunity is still WAYYY open .. 12 to 18 months .. so enjoy .. Hugs , Natalie

HI Natalie.... thanks for shaking things up! I am truly guilty of being a "looky-loo", and not posting...so here I come, ready or not! I was 8 months out on the 13th and am 10 lbs UNDER my goal. Trying to learn to maintain and add back enough calories to keep my weight stable, but in a healthy way so as not to add back FAT. Went to the Doc just for reassurance.....who'd figure I'd ever be worried that I am TOO THIN!!!????? Just finding out that my body type is actually much smaller than I always thought. Tall (6') but small boned. Keep up the good work & thanks for giving us a kick in the pants! Pam RNY 5/13/04 268/158

I am still hanging out. Down from 297 to 170 since surgery. Have been busy as crap at work. They think since I have lost weight, I can do more work. I have started a support group in my community. I find myself wanting to spend more time away from work and doing the things I have missed for so many years. We just bought a new camper a couple of weeks ago and I can't wait to just get away in it. Of course my granddaughter is adamant that she will be going with us on all of our camping trips. At 3 she is very vocal about her wishes. I read the boards everyday, guess I had better get better at posting and letting everyone know how I am doing. Carolyn
