I was just wondering if any of my May brothers and sisters were planning to attend the ObesityHelp convention next weekend in Atlanta. Please let me know if you are so I can meet ya. I'm getting excited about going. By the way I have new pics on my www if anyone wants to see my progress. I LOVE looking at everyone's pics. I still look at the B & A pics on here every single day. It's great motivation. Christie Brown

OH MY Christie....You look wonderful. I can honestly say that you actually look like you are in the skinny catagory. Not the 'too' skinny catagory...you know what I mean right!! I am so proud of you. How do the people close you react when they see you?Are you at goal now or at least close to it? I know you have to feel like a new person. I am sorry to say that I will not be attending. Although I live in SC...Atlanta is still almost a 5hr drive from here. Have a wonderful time and let us all know how it was. I am hoping for one to come to Charleston some day. Julie S. 265/162/140

Goodness Julie, You made my day. Thanks for all the kind words. I am weighing exactly the same as you. I'm at 162 and wanting to get to 138 by May. Everyone is saying that I have to be close to goal. My hubby in particular does not want me to lose much more. He would like for me to stay around 145-150. My family has seen me smaller so it's different for them. My hubby is afraid I'm going to look sickly. I do feel like the OLD me. I was only obese for about 5-8 years. I started really gaining around 1995. I wish you were coming. It is going to be such a fun time. I will post some pictures and info when I return. Christie

I wish I were coming too...I can't wait to see the pics when you come back. I have never even gone to a wls meeting around here. The computer is my only communication with peers of this. Although I do have a best friend that had it done 5yrs ago that I talk to which helps a lot. I guess I am lucky that I have never had any probelms to speak of. (knock on wood) well with the exception of my hernia. I started gaining i***** when I got pregnant with my first daughter but by the time she was 2yrs old I had lost it all. I gained again with my 2nd in 1998 and didn't take it off before my 3rd was bron in 2001 and it got worse. My family are all floored at how much different I look now and how much younger I look. I was never skinny as a child or a teeneage but I was usually thin or about 10lbs over weight. But it feels like I was obese most of my adult life. I am so happy for my children to have a more energetic mom now and for my husband who I can finally keep up with. I can give him a run for his money now...lol I think you are a lot taller then me...even though we weigh the same you look so tiny. I am just a short stack...lol (5'3) I am so excited...today I get to make my appointment with a plastic surgeon about my hernia and tummy tuck. Wish me luck!! I am not sure what my ultimate goal is. I had always had the number 130 in my head but not for any particular reason. My doc wants me down to 150 for him to consider this surgery a success and I only 12lbs to get there....we will see after that. Have lots of fun for me....take care. Julie
