weight loss so far
I have not been being as good as I should so my weight loss has been really slow over the last 3 months. I dont know what to do to get out of this rut. Im snacking as soon as the full feeling goes away & not to mention Im addicted to starbucks. At this point Im not sure if i'll reach my goal. I actually gained 3 pounds last month. Any ideas from anyone that has been where I am would be great.

Hi - I had my surgery on 5/13/04 and I am now about 7 1/2 months post op. I have lost 107 lbs. I feel like my weight loss is a little slower now and I know it is because of my age being 50. I am optimistic that I will continue to lose because I simply do not eat nearly as much as I used to. My son Andrew who is 22 now had his surgery the same day as I had mine. He weighed 352 lbs. and now is down to about 217 lbs. He is doing better than I am because he is 1) a man and 2) so young. Best wishes!

Hi Beth,
I started at 244.5 and am now at 162lbs. I was losing slow for almost two months. After Christmas I made up my mind that I was going to get it moving again. Go protein and veggies ONLY and make sure you get in tons of water...as much as humanly possible. I also have been trying to get in some type of excercise EVERY DAY. It's working for me. I've lost about 5lbs since Christmas.

Beth ,
I started this journey at a whopping 297, I am 5.7 , To date I have lost 125. My goal is another 18 pnds . I too have gone back to basics .. Protien, veggie.. and very little carbs.. Still do not do any bread or pasta . Or sugar . And exersising like a mad woman . I weigh 172 today size 12 .. but I really think I could fit a 10 in some things .
Best of luck to you and keep up the great work .

Hi Beth,
If I go back to what I weighed at my first consultation (256), I'm down 92 lb since last February (I can hardly believe it)!
But if the 'official' start is surgery date, which is what I usually measure against, then my loss is only 79 lb since then.
In any case, I feel good and haven't had any complications, so I'm grateful for every pound and hopeful I can keep it going until I get to my goal. Best of luck to you and all of us!

I've been WAY off track and I'm still miraculously losing. I might be at goal if it weren't for all the bad stuff I've eaten. Today is a new day.
In Feb, at my consult, I was 262.
245/160/130 (surgeon's goal for me is 149).
I can't believe I'm only eleven pounds from being "ideal" on the BMI chart. I still feel like I'm horrifyingly fat. Gotta see somebody about that lobotomy that didn't come with the RNY.
Hugs,
Susan
I started at 212 lbs. and have lost 84 lbs so far--down to 128... the doctor's office scales have me 5 lbs more...my husband feels that I have lost enough weight. I have lost mostly inches, and most people think that I weigh a lot less....but I have a sort of small frame so I look smaller....I have gone from size 16-18 to size 6s & 8s (5'2"). It feels so good to go into a store and be able to but almost anything on the rack.
Good luck to you Elizabeth.
