Interesting comment from my PS about TT/Panniculectomy and insurance

I had another appt with my PS this morning prior to my TT on Jan 12th. Anyway, we were talking about insurance approvals and billing and such, and he advised me that the interesting thing about insurance paying for TT/Panniculectomy is this: When the office bills the insurance co. for either procedure, the same billing code is used. So, when your insurance co. gets the bill, they don't know if they actually did just a panni or a full TT. I thought that was pretty interesting. Huh that is strange. Do you think it is easier to get the approval since you have a hernia? My pcm put in for a consult for me at a PS for my hernia and TT but I guess we will see what comes of it. I wish you luck..don't forget to take lots of pics. Julie S. 265/162/130

I don't currently have another hernia, so I don't think that is why it was approved.

Well what ever the reason I know you are elated. I am so excited for you..I am told that my insurance makes you jump throught hoops now to get PS done. I guess I will find out soon. Julie S.
