worried about taking a pill again

I am getting so completely tired of chewable vitamins and wondering if I could switch to regular old tablets now? what is everyone else doing? any ideas on how to transition back to actual pills or gel caps? I am afraid of them getting stuck but not sure I should be? Thanks, Lisa

Honey, I take ALL kinds of pills, with my supplements, plus other meds. I quit with the chewables a long time ago, so I can relate to how you feel. I asked me doc, he told me not to worry about it. I have always taken my other meds since right after surgery, because crushed pills and opened up capsules are just gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I first began I just did one at a time, now I just slam the whole bunch. I haven't had them stick, so you probably don't have a thing to worry about! Valena Lap RNY 5/3/2004, -112

Lisa, I take vitamins in the pill form...I have had no trouble! My only problem seems to be getting enough water...I used to gulp it like it was going to run out...now I take a gulp and have a mouth full sometimes I have to go spit it out, because I have no room to swallow. Don't worry, maybe at first you can split your vitamin in half until you feel comfortable swallowing it whole ( I did this for about a month). Best wishes, Michelle

I use the spray vitamins and that seems to work for me. I do use a chewable iron to supplement however.

No problems here with taking pills, capsules, even the pretty big multi vites since about 2mo post op. Mine go down better if I take them with a protein shake...they slide better, bu****er works ok too. Give it a shot! Shanna
