Hi I just got my 6months blood work done and I have to take potassium.I also have to take a dieretic, which is why my potassium is low.Does anyone know what foods or drinks I could have to help me from holding the water.I hate being bloated but ,the potassium is nasty. They are gonna check me again in 6 weeks.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Everything else was great I even had to stop taking my B-12. Thanks in advance, Angi

Angi- I had trouble early out with my potassium being way low. They, right away, took me off my blood pressure meds (which were also a dieretic) and had me take mega doses of potassium...yuck! I am just curious why they would want you to continue with the dieretic if the potassium is low? Anyway, not sure what food you can have to help with the water retention, but drink lots of water to help flush out what you are holding onto. I have heard that adding lemon to it helps...I dont know if that's true or not. I am also curious as to why they are having you stop the b12...be careful and keep an eye on that. Good luck with the potassium...make sure you are taking it, if it gets too low you will feel just awful. Take care Shanna

Hi thanks for answering. They have me still taking the dieretic because I hold alot of fluid. The potassium was just gross, but I'm done with the liquid now I have to take the horse pills.....it's like a meal.I stopped taking the large dose of B12 and started taking a smaller dose .I don't want it to get low. Thanks alot ,Angi

OK Dandelion tea. Only health food stores sell it and it cost 5 or 6 dollars a box. It is a natural diuretic. I too am on lasix and suppose to take potassium but those pills are huge. I eat allot of tomato based products and so far my levels are normal. Hope this helps! Also i eat bananas to get in my potassium. Lisa 423/280/???

Hi Angi. Don't know much about it but maybe there is a nutritional website that someone may know of. Is there any chance that you won't have to take the diuretic in the future because of your weight loss? Best of Luck to you. Penny
