Skin peeling under nails

I have had skin peeling from underneath my finger nails. Both hands in 4 different places. Is it the weather changing, and dry air kicking in or does this have anything to do with surgery????? I don't remember ever having this happen to me, but then I don't believe i remember hearing this happening to anyone after WLS. Brenda

Only thing I can tell you is that post surgery, my nails are awful. Soft, peeling, yuck! I'm OK with it since I haven't lost any hair. Did you check with your doc? Best wishes.... Ms. Healthy -115

Not yet, but I will. I think this is probably dehydration combined with the changing of weather...My nails still look great, and are the same as they were pre-opp. Just skin around cutickles(SP) and under nails coming off. Good thing it doesnt hurt! Brenda

Actually, now that you mention the skin peeling around the cuticles, I have that too. Maybe it's because we're eating so much less fat..and absorbing even less... If you find anything out, please post it. Ms. Healthy -115
