Has anyone seen my motivation?
Maybe it's due to having had the last of my Prozac prescription a couple of weeks ago, but:
* I've been mooning around on weekends, not wanting to go anywhere or do anything or be with anybody. Taking looong naps.
* Haven't been on my treadmill or bike for weeks now ... just seems like too much work.
* When I'm home, I'm hungry! Not really stomach-hungry but very very mouth-hungry. This weekend I was nibbling something -- cheese, fruit, milk -- every couple of hours.
* I weighed 243 at my RNY on May 10; had lost 13 lb before the surgery for a total of -75lb from my highest weight. Earlier this month I was at 181, but the scale bounced back up to 182, 183, 184 ... yesterday it said 185.
Things were really going well, too, before this whatever-it-is dark cloud moved in. Should I just run, not walk, back to the shrink for more happy pills? Any of you going through this?

Donna sounds like to me you really got a case of the blues . And yes , If it where me I would go back to my doctor . Anti depression meds can work and do work . But you have to take them like prescribed and follow up with counseling if need be .
You can get thru this . I have not experienced depression persay but have been moody at times . Just hang in there and get to your doctor .
He or she knows best and this too shall pass .
Take care of you ,
Natalie

RUN GIRL RUN!!! One of the dirty tricks of anti-depressants is when you're on them and they are working you don't feel like you need them. Well, you and so many others find out how much good they are doing only by going off them.
I am on Wellbutrin, and I talked to my doctor about coming off. She said we could discuss that a year out after surgery. Why mess up a good thing? was her general reaction. I do feel good. Do I like taking it? Well, no I don't. Will I follow her orders - you bet your sweet bippee!
Good luck.
Donna, I think your motication and my motivation must have went for a long vacation over the winter months. hehe Seriously though Winter time is a VERY common time for women to have depression settle in. My grandmother was famouse for her depression to set in in January. My aunt bought a winter home in Texas due to this fact. My mother battles it and I battle it, although I don't usually take anything for it. But before it gets bad I will take something for it.
Add that to the fact of you going off medication...it is probably hitting you pretty hard. I agree Run don't walk back to your Dr.
Good luck!

Hey Donna,
I am a pretty happy camper and one of those lucky folks who never had a bad day after my surgery. However, here lately I've been snacking on things I thought I wouldn't even look at for at least a year. I think it might be simply PMS for me. I started at the 244.5 and am at 177 as of this morning. I was bouncing around 180 for several weeks and am thrilled to finally be below it and hope it stays down. Well...I started today and am so determined to get back on my protein/water/exercise wagon tomorrow.
But, if you were on prozac and felt fine then I'd get back to my doc and get that prescrip filled.
Good Luck,
Christie
