Hey everyone, just needing someone to talk to. I work up this morning with a hernia. I mean it literally appeared overnight. It's at the top of my incision about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide. It only bulges out when I cough or sneeze. I don't know what happened. I've followed my doctors orders and I still got one. To top it all off my doctor moved his office to Dallas from Lubbock and I don't know if my insurance will pay for me to go to him at his new place. I faxed them my information today and they should know something by Tuesday. I still can't believe it. It doesn't really hurt just a little discomfort. Thanks for listening and if anyone is going through the same thing let me know how things are going for you. God Bless, Debra -96 lbs. 90 to go.

Debra- I'm so sorry this happened! How weird to have it pop out overnight. I'm glad it doesn't hurt much. Please keep us updated on the insurance saga. I'll keep you in my prayers! Hugs, Susan

I think I have one too. I have a bump right under my biggest incision. I followed all the rules too. Mine doesn't hurt at all, it just looks and feels WEIRD! I'm seeing the surgeon this week. Please keep us posted. Ms. Healthy -110

Debra - I'm surprised to hear that it popped out "overnite" but I had one too; the size of a softball. I had surgery on 5-18 and I had the incisional hernia repaired 2 weeks ago - It required a 2 day hospital stay, but I feel better now. It was uncomfortable and bothered me when I coughed - I had to hold the hernia when I coughed. The surgeon doesn't like to perform surgery until you are at the end of weight loss - as this is the size your stomach will stay.I'm off work for 2 more weeks - due to this surgery. It's not as invasive as the first surgery - but the incision was the same as the first. I had open RNY. It's best to wear the "girdle" for awhile - it helps!
